We've got a lot of games to cover with such little time (I need to sleep eventually). After talking about my adventure at the pawn shop, Beeb and Blue Map talk about a bunch of games, including Oxenfree (move over, Undertale......?). Somestickguy also joins us partway to talk about Anime! And also cancer. Final Fantasy XIII also gets brought up at length. So basically a whole lot of cancer talk today.
It's the first of a five-part nostalgia bomb, as four slightly mutated adults with varying degrees of martial arts skills band together to talk about the original TMNT cartoon. It may be the most famous adaptation of the Ninja Turtles, but does it still hold up? Gonmun, Qanamil, and DaMoonRulz join me in discussing the various aspects of the 80's classic, from its lack of police officers to its amusing-yet-insensitive portrayal of modern day Japan, to what originally qualified as violence in a children's cartoon to April's....not so kid-friendly attributes. Come on over to the South Figaro Podcast, where ninjas eat for free (but apparently don't know how to count).
It's the first 2016 episode of the South Figaro Podcast....because I say so! Fencingsax joins the group after a long hiatus to listen to me talk about Lightning Returns and how it's not a complete affront to the senses or RPGs in general. Beeb and Blue Map also talk Pokemon for a similarly long time. Kingdom Hearts, Life is Strange, movies vs videogames, and all sorts of other topics are brought up in this recording, so start the new year fresh and two weeks late!
We started this 2015 talk right on time, but we're ending it at the new year. On part 3, we finally discuss our picks for 2015's best game (plus some runners up), while looking back fondly at 2015 while also looking forward in anticipation for 2016.
It's a new year, but we still have some loose ends to tie up. In part 2 of our GOTY 2015 discussions, the gang discusses their favorite characters, their worst games, and how many windows we'll need to crack open when talking about the stinkiest messes of the year. Can we manage to fit in the rest of our categories in two parts (spoilers: nope)?
It's Christmas Day, and we've got a nicely wrapped present for you listeners: the first of our multi-part (?) discussions of gaming in 2015! In this episode we talk about which games were pretty, which characters were kawaii, the sickest boss fights, the saddest moments, and the soundtrackiest music!
Everyone's gone off to see Star Wars, but I manage to tackle LockedOnTarget just a couple hours before his movie date to convince him why Final Fantasy VII's multi-part Remake could potentially be the greatest thing ever (emphasis on "potentially"). Blue Map also joins me as we breathe a sigh of relief at Kojima's safe exfiltration from the Konami Base while also having way too much fun with analogies. We then cap things off with talks over the final Smash Bros roster in this short-but-sweet episode.
FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE! FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE! FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE! FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE! FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE!
And I guess some other stuff got announced too.
Two gaming events means two podcasts in a row! LockedOn joins Beeb and Blue Map to listen to me fan-out for a bit while we then move on to the rest of the show....that only I watched.
Hope you stockpiled on Mountain Dew and Doritos on Black Friday, because you won't find any of it in this year's TGA. Instead you'll find Blue Map, Beeb and myself talk about our holiday hauls and impressions of Keighley's increasingly legit awards show. Brought to you by Bud Light and whatever that stupid iPhone app was called.
Edit: Fixed opening audio issues.
Put down that drumstick and give a listen to our strategically uploaded Thanksgiving podcast! Beeb, Stickguy and LockedOnTarget have come with treats about the games they're playing, like Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, while I add the stuffing with Tales of Xillia and Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Also, listen in as I reveal my most hated character archtype of all time (and it's not just exclusive to Japanese media)! Walmart's site crashes under the weight of Black Friday, but the South Figaro Podcast can never be toppled!
