South Texas Border Sports Podcast with Rey Silva

With Baseball and Softball seasons quickly approaching... having the right equipment such as a baseball glove. Well, meet McAllen native and founder of Rock Custom Gloves Mr. Roque Cortinas.  Cortinas is from McAllen, Texas and he joins the podcast to talk about some baseball and some of his experiences.

UTRGV Baseball head coach Derek Matlock joins the podcast to talk about the upcoming season and some of the changes can bring. We discuss the rule changes that were installed during the MLB season and if it will affect the way he plans to set up his team to victory.

Juggling as many as four careers can be quite the stretch... for UTB/TSC alum Juan Gamboa finding the right blend to do 4 different professions.  From soccer goalie glove designer, full-time teaching, being a MASL player, and a father Gamboa enjoys all four. "Each of them brings a different aspect out of me and puts in a position where I can be successful."  

The Evolution Basketball Association added another team in the Rio Grande Valley. They are the RGV Hurricanes and their owner Issac De La Garza joins the podcast to discuss how the team is coming along after hosting tryouts and what they want to accomplish in their inaugural season in the EBA. 

Local sports journalist Hector Zapata joins the podcast to talk about the Houston Dynamo logo change, the Houston Rockets GM situation, Houston Texans, and RGV FC Toros.
