June: Putting on the Helmet of Salvation.

Focus: We need to protect our faith and this requires us to come to a conclusion about the Bible. Is it God's word or is it merely writings which originate from the mind of men? If the Bible is God's word revealed by the Holy Spirit to inspired men, then we must submit to it. But if the Bible is merely writings which originate from men, then it has no authority over us. 

Theme: Putting on the Helmet of Salvation

Focus: As soldiers look to protect themselves and put a helmet on their head before the battle begins, so we need to prepare for the attacks on our faith which begin in the mind. One of these is "Can I have full assurance of salvation? Or can I be fully assured that I have been forgiven?" In this lesson we will dive into Paul's letter to the brethren in Colossae as he desired they would have "full assurance" (2:1-2; 4:12).

This is the final lesson in our series and we deal with more scenarios and questions that can tempt people to go beyond Scripture or to ignore it.

This is the second lesson in this series and our focus is on the some important truths to consider along with beginning to dive into some questions/scenarios which can tempt people to either go beyond what Scripture teaches or to ignore it.

The focus of this lesson is to gain the Biblical understanding of marriage and divorce. This is a topic which was very prevalent in Jesus' day and in ours. God has been very clear in His word regarding this.

Focus: Joseph's life provides great insight into what it looks like to have a faith that overcomes sin. By his example and from Ps.51 we get a clear picture of what a strong, mature and victorious faith looks like.

This lesson is focused on what we learn about God from the heart of mothers.

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:35-58

Focus: Paul has explained why the resurrection is important in the beginning of this chapter. As he closes this chapter, Paul explains what the resurrection will be like, when it will happen and what it will accomplish.

Focus: Following the series on the resurrection, as we considered and examined some great promises of God and look forward to great and mighty things He will do, we want to make sure we have a firm foundation in Him. In Psalm 105 the writer helps show us the reason for why we believe in God's faithfulness and in His ability to do just as He has spoken. A mature faith will not look for a new sign, or another sign, to be given to it day after day. A faith that is never satisfied or patient, but demands another sign in order to trust for that moment, is a faith that is weak, blind and like the Pharisees in Jesus' day. A mature faith can look to the mighty things God has done, revealed and preserved and builds their faith on that foundation knowing that the God who had the power to create the world and give life, has the ability and power to fulfill His promises that remain for us.

Focus: After examining 1 Corinthians 15 and understanding what the resurrection is, how it will be and when it will come, we now look to understand what the resurrection should mean to us. We examine questions like "Where are the dead?", "Why a final resurrection?", "Will we recognize one another in eternity?", "Will we know if some are not with us?".
