Coach Michael Earley tries to reset after a difficult 2025 season, his debut one as a head coach. The Aggies had a last-minute change at hitting coach that will require a staff re-shuffle. The biggest thing that went wrong last year was injuries to stars Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell and Shane Sdao, with pitching contributor Josh Stewart also hurt. Texas A&M has the potential for a strong batting order with the addition of transfers Chris Hacopian and Jake Duer, along with catcher Zane Becker. They’ll pair with a number of quality returning bats like Terrence Kiel II, Bear Harrison, Ben Royo, Blake Binderup and Sawyer Farr. Veteran returnee Weston Moss joins Sdao to give the Aggies a quality 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation. Returnees Clayton Freshcorn, Gavin Lyons, Caden McCoy, Aiden Sims and Grant Cunnngham will have key roles, and transfer MJ Bollinger, Juan Vargas and Ethan Darden could have big bullpen roles.

Coach Jim Schlossnagle took the SEC by storm last year until the Longhorns started to run out of gas in May. But he’s built this roster through recruiting and the portal into one that looks more talented that last year’s. The Longhorns have a terrific returning lineup corps in Ethan Mendoza, Adrian Rodriguez, Casey Borba and Jonah Williams. Texas added a pair of the best offensive transfers in the country in Carson Tinney and Aiden Robbins and also got likely starters Josh Livingston, Temo Becerra and Ashton Larson. Texas’s pitching is exceptionally deep and starts with Dylan Volantis, last year’s superstar freshman closer, who this year could be one of the league’s best starters. Key returning arms are Ruger Riojas, Max Grubbs, Kade Bing, Jason Flores, Thomas Burns, Hudson Hamilton, Cody Howard, Ethan Walker and Connor McCreery. Transfer Cal Higgins and Haiden Leffew should have big roles, too.

Coach Kevin O’Sullivan had a rough off-season, taking a leave of absence and also losing long-time assistant Chuck Jeroloman to Tennessee. O’Sullivan will serve a brief suspension to start the season due to a post-game incident at Coastal Carolina. Injuries to Kyle Jones and Cade Kurland helped wreck Florida’s 2025 season. Those guys are healthy and will join returnees Blake Cyr, budding superstar Brendan Lawson, Hayden Yost, Justin Nadeau and Landon Stripling as key bats. Florida added transfers Sam Miller, Karson Bowen and Ethan Surowiec as key bats for this season. Liam Peterson and Aidan King could potentially be the country’s best Friday-Saturday-starter combo. THe Gators return veterans Luke McNeillie, Billy Barlow, Jackson Barberi, Caden McDonald, Christian Rodriguez, Blaine Rowland, Matthew Jenkins and McCall Biemiller, plus, get back Joshua Writenour, who missed last season. Transfers Cooper Walls, Russell Sandefer and Ricky Reeth should also help.

Coach Skip Johnson is not just one of the league’s best quotes, but he gets so much out of the Sooners' talent, which is often heavily mined through the JUCO ranks. Expect Johnson’s teams to run and defend well and his pitchers to develop (just as he’s done with Cade Horton, Kyson Witherspoon and others). The Sooners return every-day players Jason Walk, Jaxon Willits, Kyle Branch, Trey Gambill and Dayton Tockey, and returnees Dasan Harris and Drew Dickerson had major roles at times last year. Transfers Camden Johnson, Cayden Brumbaugh, Deiten LaChance and perhaps Brendan Brock could be big contributors for Oklahoma, not to mention big-time freshman recruit Alec Blair. There’s a lot of uncertainty around pitching roles but returning arms, Jason Bodin, Reid Hensley, Gavryn Jones and Jaden Barfield have held important ones for the Sooners before, and Cameron Johnson has always had huge potential if he can throw strikes. Transfers LJ Mercurius, Joey McManus, Jackson Cleveland, Mason Bixby and others could have important impacts.
