Week 7 - A cry is normally attributed to a sense of loss or helplessness. The reality of the lost brings about a pressing cry. A cry to be loved, to experience true life, and to see light in their darkened state. Will we hear their cry and give them their greatest need: Jesus Christ.

Faithfulness is a trait that is universally expected and rewarded by our Lord. This is demonstrated by looking at a lady whom the Bible identifies as faithful. Lydia was a new convert. Her appeal to the disciples is one of which we can learn from: If ye have judged me faithful to the Lord.

Part 14 - Chapter 4: Jesus being tested and triumphing

After triumph comes testing and Jesus is thrust straight into the crosshairs of the spiritual warfare in which He is the central protagonist and eventual victor.

Jesus, Tested by the Devil in the Wilderness

We will see the charge of the devil directed toward the Son of Man. The evil one will pose three charges against Jesus. It will be instructive as these are common areas of assault from our foe. Jesus will come through these temptations in great triumph and we will then note the resulting power in which Jesus then ministers.

In this passage, we see the 12 spies return from the Land of Canaan. Upon their arrival, they share the fruits they brought back and the good news of the lands. What is interesting to note here is that it was Caleb who amongst this stilled the people. There are lessons here we can learn from Caleb about being a spiritual and God-driven person during this time.

It is often Gods choicest servants that the devil will directly attack. When you read through history both in the Bible and Christian literature, this has been the pattern and it is no different with Jesus. We will see the method that our enemy employs and how our Saviour responds in order to triumph.

This chapter of Scripture gives us a summary of how we ought to live with the knowledge of Christs return. Whilst theres a myriad of commandments there that we can take some time dissecting, theres a verse here that actually underpins all of the instructions given. We must be encouraged and then motivated to be more like our God, our Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ: faithful.

Week 6 - Irrespective of mans nationality, religion, or even ignorance, the catastrophic end of lost man is the lake of fire. The need for them to hear the Gospel is imminent due to this fact. As if their current condition wasnt bad enough, they face a catastrophe of eternal punishment without Christ.

We understand missions fundamentally and the urgency of the task. Why then the disparity of impetus between command and action? In this sense, we must then ask ourselves why is missions urgent? It is the reality of the Losts condition. Those without Christ, souls that Jesus loves are in peril. So many times, when Jesus is referring to the need of the world, He simply says look or see. So, what happens when we arent seeing what Jesus is seeing?

Missions ought to be the heartbeat of the Church. The great commission rests on all that have called upon the name of the Lord. We are His chosen vessels to propel the Gospel message to the uttermost. Whether it be through personal submission to go or yielding of time or finances, we all have an integral part to serve. Yet sometimes we have conjured up roadblocks that hinder us to be fully committed to Gods cause. We must recognize and remove these roadblocks to remain faithful to the mission.

We use the word Christian on a day to day basis but do we really know what it means to be a Christian? For instance, this term was first used when referring to the church in Antioch. By looking at their example, we can understand what it means to be a Christian.
