The fourth, and final, message in our "The Story" sermon series deals with the subject of restoration and asks what the future holds? While it is true that Christ has already conquered death, Hell and the grave…that He has already won the battle…the truth also is that there is still a war raging on, that things are not as they seem and that all believers have a crucial role to play until His glorious return.

God created the universe, our world and everything in it. He created Man in his image to commune with God in perfect fellowship. But something went terribly wrong in the garden of Eden? What went wrong, is there hope and what does the future hold? The great news is, yes, there is hope! And His name is Jesus Christ…Savior of the world!

Stories can be timeless. Throughout the history of the world, stories have captured our past, have dreamed of the future and have, to some degree, defined who we are. And the greatest story of all time is one that God calls us to have a primary part in; the story of unending love, selfless sacrifice and, ultimately, redemption.

In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John describes a scene where a strong angel holds up a scroll and asks who is worthy to open it and loose its seals? Scripture tells us that no one on the earth, above or below the earth in all of creation was found to be worthy. But there is One who IS worthy: The Lion of Judah, the slain Lamb, the Son of Man, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. And His name is Jesus Christ.

Being obsessed with what people think about you is the quickest way to lose sight of what God thinks about you. Pleasing God often means disappointing people. Extraordinary acts of God often start with ordinary acts of obedience. But if you are not ready to be criticized, you are not ready to be used by God.

Have you ever questioned your standing with God? Much like the shepherds at the birth of Jesus, have you ever felt distant from God, unworthy and inadequate? If so, this is a message you need to hear. For though the Law has brought us death and separation, our faith in Christ alone brings us redemption, acceptance and renewal.

Many times throughout our lives God will prompt us to step out of our comfort zone and set off on an adventure that we would have never expected. And while it can be scary and confusing, the truth is we are simply called to be obedient…not to fully understand. It is God's responsibility for the outcome. You can rest completely in the knowledge that God will never let you fall.
