But God never intended marriage to be that way. Does divorce sometimes happen to Godly people? Yes. But we can strive against such sad outcomes by acknowledging God's true intentions and follow his commands as laid out in scripture. Are you not happy with what you are getting out of your marriage? As believers we are called to be in the world but not of the world. One of the ways we can show the light of Christ is in our approach to marriage. We should seek to build a solid foundation for our relationship based on God's instructions contained within marriage. Doing so will not only "divorce-proof" our marriages but it will point the world to Jesus.

There is no doubt about it. Married people fight! But there is a way to address our disagreements that will not only solve the problem but also honor our spouses, ourselves and ultimately God. But in order to have a strong family foundation, we must have strong marriages...marriages that are based on God's precepts and centered on Christ. Any other approach to this holy union is destined to fail.

While we have the freedom to speak our minds because of the great country in which we live, as Christians we are NOT free to say whatever we want to whoever we want in any way we want. We are called to be led by the Spirit of God in the words that come out of our mouths, not to be led by our emotions or our own selfish desires and wants.

We all want to be successful in life, whether it pertains to our family, career or spiritual walk. But if we aren't careful to define success by biblical standards, not the world's standards, then we can get into trouble quickly. Colossians 3:1-5 reminds us to set our hearts on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God, not on earthly things. We are called to put to death our earthly nature so we can be transformed into the image of Christ and obtain true spiritual growth.

Jesus never said not to judge, but He did give vital instructions on when to judge our christian brothers and sisters and within what context.
