The central theme of the sermon today is that a Christian lives a brand new life. As we look at this part of the Bible, we discover three major points that Jesus makes. First, you must be born again to belong to God. Second, only the Holy Spirit can make you born again. And third, if you are born again, you will live a new life.

The final defense of the Jews against Paul was that they bore the sign of God's love on their bodies in circumcision. Paul reveals that it wasn't the help they expected. Rather, once the law is broken, the sign of God's blessing becomes a sign of condemnation. It turns out the ultimate good work isn't enough.
