When Jesus came to the earth, he was entering hostile enemy territory. Yet he came so that we could be brought into his new kingdom, the kingdom that alone will stand in the end.

The whole world is intentionally designed by God to be a theater for the display of his glory. Every part, from the Fall on, leads to the immeasurable pinnacle of the glory of the grace of Jesus Christ. In this grace of Jesus, we find salvation and our greatest joy.

Our problem is so deep, so condemning, and so debilitating that good advice will do us no good. What we need is good news, and the greatest of good news is found in Jesus Christ alone.

The Scripture alone is our authority because it is God's word, and in it God tells us of the good news of Jesus Christ.

The greatest news in all of the world is that God is gracious towards undeserving sinners. Grace alone reminds us that God does the work only he can do to give us the gift we could never earn.

The doctrine of justification by faith alone is indispensable in getting the gospel right and the greatest of news for our weary souls.

When our hope is in the Sovereign Lord, it will stand in the end, because nothing can frustrate or defeat his purposes.

God gives us a very clear and devastating description of his judgment so that we may see our great need and the glory of our hope in Jesus.
