This is very awesome and unique early portable fluorescent lantern, which needed just a minor cleaning to look and work excellent. In addition to demonstrating it I disassemble the lantern and provide some technical info.

I decided to pull apart four of my Sony Mavica digital cameras to see who made the 2x and 4x floppy drives. Here are the results.

A thrift store find, right after I got the Memorex VCR. This VCR is excellent, and a better example of a Panasonic VCR than that junk unit from Indonesia I got a couple of years ago.

Turns out that this old VHF radio works just fine, and is very nice to use and gets out great.

Filmed over a year ago, here I test the generic USB 3.5" hard drive enclosure I got from the e-waste box. Then I tell the tragic story of how the enclosure (and my own stupid decision) ended up killing one of my favorite vintage hard drives.

A neat and well-designed basic analog oscilloscope

After the GE daylight lamp I was using in my desk lamp went mercury starved, I decided I wanted to try some 5000k fluorescent lamps, which can only be bought online and in specialty electrical warehouses. I put a want ad on Lighting Gallery, and someone generously sent me some. Here I unpackage and test them.

In September after I gave Brandon his oscilloscope, we brought it down to a lab at school, and ran Oscillofun and Youscope on it. Those are stereo sound files someone made that, when fed into two channels of an oscilloscope on X-Y mode, make it show cool patterns. Afterwards, we had some fun with two function generators plugged into it.
