In this mess I filmed in 2013, I attempt to repair four nonfunctional electronic fluorescent lamp ballasts - one which runs on 120V, and three from battery powered lanterns.

I made my first-ever contact on the amateur radio bands a couple of weeks ago by introducing myself to one of the weekly nets held by the International Repeater Group. Since then I check into almost every net.

This unexpected yard sale find is mint in the box and works perfect.

Filmed the night I was awarded my callsign, I see if I can make my first-ever amateur radio contact on the local repeater. No luck, but I still made progress as far as learning to call out with my own callsign. Also a look at another Baofeng radio.

I got to see Neil yesterday, get his IBM ThinkPad T60 up and running with Linux Mint for him, and play around with his vintage camcorder!

After I got this drive working fine, a misjudged action on my part has made it unusable, with chance of successful repair questionable.

I paid Neil a visit to deliver my gift to him in return for the Sharp PC-7000 - my Iwatsu oscilloscope. I spent a couple of hours with him checking out his electronics collection, and he sent me home with these excellent things.

This is by far one of the best finds, if not the best find from the e-waste pile. It only took about $30 and a little bit of work to turn this into a fully functional and beautiful condition computer.

Parting out all three of my AT computers, and redistributing the parts to make them configured, in my opinion, more appropriately.

You can tell how long ago this was filmed because I was living in my temporary apartment in the beginning of summer.
