  • 36.0 Echos / Echo #12 - Snow Day

    This echo was recorded on my Zoom H5 with Rode NTG1 shotgun mic on Jan 1, 2022, edited today.

    Not very seasonal I know, just me walking in fresh snow. I love the crunching sound of walking in fresh powder.
    Also, a great example of how directional a shotgun mic is. While walking, it was pointed directly at my feet, not capturing the sound of the ocean or the distant city traffic at all. But as soon as I pointed it to the people playing in the snow, it captured all this background environment.

    Cet écho a été enregistré sur mon Zoom H5 avec le micro shotgun NTG1 de Rode le 1er janvier 2022, édité aujourd'hui.

    Pas tellement de saison je sais, juste moi qui marche dans la neige fraîche. J'adore le son craquant de la neige poudreuse.
    Aussi, un excellent exemple d'à quel point un micro shotgun est directionnel. Pendant que je marchais, le micro était pointé directement vers mes pieds, et ne captait donc pas du tout le bruit de l'océan ou de la circulation dans le lointain. Mais dès que j'ai pointé le micro sur les gens qui jouaient dans la neige, il a capté tout cet environnement sonore en arrière-plan.
