  • How Comfy Is Too Comfy?
In this week's episode we again cover a wider range of topics to talk about. We start with a quick check in on how we're feeling, the weather and the mood, before diving into Flin's recap of his most recent musical visit, things that he liked, and things that surprised him. Then we go into another discussion about AI, and our thoughts on mindfulness and intention when it comes to using technology. Then we debate whether changing into comfortable clothes the minute we get home is a must or not, what's appropiate and what's not, and how the situation might change when you've got roommates or having guests over. Lastly, we discuss the perfect length for episodes of visual entertainment like TV series (in our opinion). 20 minutes? 40 minutes? And why's that?

Lots to explore and uncover here, hope you enjoy!

  • As We See It
This week we kick things off with a quick recap of Julien's 32nd birthday before catching up on why July always seems to become one of the busiest months of the year for us. From there, the conversation moves between everyday situations and bigger questions, including how we'd want to respond if we heard someone calling for help, balancing compassion with caution, especially in a city like Berlin.
We also reflect on the small misunderstandings that can keep conversations from becoming truly meaningful, the strange reality that we can never fully control how others remember us, and the lasting impact a great teacher can have on someone's life. Along the way, we share our thoughts on hustle culture, burnout, and finding a pace that feels true to ourselves, before wrapping up with another check-in on the ongoing Football World Cup and a discussion about what we think could be fairer. As always, it's a conversation full of observations, reflections, and a few unexpected detours.

  • Just Listen :)
This week we recap the second half of Julien’s Denmark vacation after his return, as well as briefly check in on the ongoing World Cup and our thoughts on it so far. Flin then shares his experience and feelings related to visiting a cardiologist after prolonged time of avoidance, leading into a wider conversation about fears, uncertainty, and confronting the unknown to find peace. From there, we somehow find ourselves exploring the Year of the Fire Horse, superstitions, belief systems, mythology, and the strange world of dreams; lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, and some thoughts and stories in between. We also discuss how to actually support friends when they're struggling, and why simply listening is often more valuable than giving advice. Also making a case for normalizing not competing in friendly conversations, for less interrupting and less "one upping" other peoples stories. To round things off, we share our critical thoughts on AI-generated art and music.

  • Prepared By Accident
A slightly different episode this week as we call Julien during his Denmark vacation for a quick check-in from there. Flin shares the intense story of witnessing a nearby car accident and becoming the first person on the scene, leading to a conversation about preparedness, responsibility, and how seemingly unrelated interests can equip us for unexpected situations. We go from talking about driving, to GTA, returning fashion trends, the Tumblr era and early social media days, reflecting on how our relationship with privacy and self-expression has changed over time, as did the internet in general. Plus, a short discussion on alcohol culture, our take on 'drinking in moderation', and why some widely accepted habits are at least worth questioning. As always: observations, stories, reflections, and some friendly yap along the way. Hope you enjoy!

  • Slow & Steady
This week we talk about balancing work, hobbies, and the things we get obsessed with, while learning to embrace a slower and steadier approach to growth. We share updates on language learning, singing lessons, and the challenge of letting go of perfectionism and performance pressure. We also reflect on music, culture, social media, authenticity, World Cup vibes, future Japan plans, and the value of sharing more freely and honestly. A conversation about growth, expression, and finding your own rhythm in a noisy world.

  • Having Fun!?
This week we dive more deeply into the concepts of certain emotions; if having fun is underrated, and ultimately agreeing that nobody else should get to define what that should look like for you. From there, we reflect on the role of the past, whether the present moment is all that truly matters, and why being aware of our own privileges is so important. We also wonder whether peak happiness can only exist when there's also discomfort and hardships as a contrast, or if we'd rather trade the highs and lows for a steadier sense of contentment. Along the way, we check in on our current World Cup excitement levels, send a small love letter to Northern Europe, as well as Julien publicly commiting to learning Portuguese, with Flin and the community officially invited to keep him accountable.

  • Between Intention and Influence
This week we welcome the summer and catch up after the holidays, reflecting on family gatherings, shifting dynamics, feeling a little out of place at times, and the challenge of staying true to yourself when faced with social expectations, disagreements, and peer pressure. We also explore the curious fascination many people seem to have with true crime and trash TV, looking at potential reasons and that makes people tune in to stories that are equal parts disturbing, dramatic, and strangely compelling. Along the way, we take a moment to look ahead as we approach our 100th episode, sharing some thoughts on what's next and what the future of the podcast could look like. A mix of summer energy, honest reflections, and the usual friendly conversation.

  • Reaching Out(side The Comfort Zone)
This week we start with music, from Flin rediscovering an old unusual instrument to discovering a new artist to the challenge of stepping outside the comfort zone and reaching out for possible future collaborations, we also explain our shared allergy to independent artists doing (overly extensive) pre-release campaigns. We share observations from our current side-job "adventures", hear a couple new gym stories, and talk about the familiar family dynamic of grandparents expecting the younger generation to always make the first move and keep contact alive. We somehow end up discussing trading card games too. Just another episode full of reflections, side quests, and friendly detours.

  • Walking Paradoxes
This week’s episode turns into one long reflection on some contradictions of everyday life. We explore personality traits, habits, and perspectives that sometimes seem completely opposite while also realizing how many shared thoughts and experiences still connect us underneath it all. The conversation drifts through all kinds of topics, observations, and reflections, including the recap of a genuinely crazy dream/nightmare and the feelings and thoughts it sparked. Hope you enjoy!
