Recorded live at St. Pete Pride and the LGBTQ Resource Center at the Gulfport Library, this is a story that was born in community and carries that warmth in every moment. Created in response to State of Florida classroom language restrictions.

Noodle hurt his leg. Now he has to wear a great big blow-up Tube around his neck for a WHOLE week while he gets well. And Noodle hates that.

Noodle and the Tube is a warm, funny, vividly imagined audio story about a dog named Noodle and his beloved companion Ellaretta – when the Tube makes Noodles cosy life much harder.

When fighting the Tube doesn't work (and makes things worse), Noodle discovers something much more powerful: imagination.

Day by day, the Tube becomes a life preserver on a sailboat, a lion's mane, a New Year's decoration flashing like fireworks, a spectacular banana hat, a spaceship porthole with a view of the Moon, and finally a glowing Christmas wreath — while the countdown ticks from 6 to 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 to 1.

This is a story for any child who has ever had to wear something uncomfortable, wait for something to heal, or sit still when they desperately didn't want to — and for any caregiver trying to explain why. It's also a story about the quiet magic of someone who loves you making ham parallelograms just to see if that helps.

The details are delightful: Elvis movies, Carmen Miranda, samba whistles, Have Spacesuit, Will Travel, and a vet who is genuinely impressed. Noodle arrives at his last appointment in a lion's mane, a banana hat, sunglasses, and a wreath that lights up red and gold and green. The vet says "Wow."

And Noodle's leg is healed.
