Joan Y. Edwards is award-winning author and motivational speaker who helps you laugh, have fun, persevere, write, market, and never give up. She wrote and illustrated Flip Flap Floodle, 2021 Firebird Book Award Winner for a Children’s Book with Humor and Picture Book for 4-8. She wrote Joan’s Elder Care Guide: Empowering You and Your Elder to Survive published by 4RV Publishing, and she created a series of Gospel-based crossword and wordsearch puzzle books with devotionals for all three liturgical years that are available on her website.

Her website/blog, https://www.joanyedwards.com, has more than 1,160,924 visitors. She shares inspirational articles and resources to help readers believe in themselves and never give up.

She enjoys reading and listening to the positive messages of Joel Osteen. She taught elementary school for 35 years and has a Master’s Degree in Education. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and Charlotte Writers Club.

Edwards loves spending time with family and friends at home, at the beach, and in the mountains. She enjoys humorous movies, especially stories with happy endings.

Up to three winners per category are possible based on the judging criteria of each category and based on the cumulative scores from two independent judges. Some categories receive many entries. If you submitted your book to only one crowded category, the difference between 3rd place and Honorable Recognition could be just one point.  Please be assured that our judges invest a lot of time and thought in the judging process to allow you the greatest opportunity to receive a winning and honorable recognition placement.

Please feel free to promote your book as an Honorable Recognition. You can add Firebird Book Award Honorable Recognition to your author bio on your website, online profiles, social media accounts, etc. However, there are no prizes or award seals associated with the Honorable Recognition category.
