Anthony Mays is an independently published writer of fictional novels and short stories. Anthony was born and raised west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a Vietnam veteran and retired from military service. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Anthony made a second career as a civil servant in the U.S. government. Along with his wife Sherry, he enjoys vacationing anywhere along the coastline. They have three children and four blessed grandchildren.

Anthony Mays, the author of several ‘halfway to’ themed books, chose to use the expression based on his road travels around the country. Seemingly, he was halfway to his destination when a character, plot, or location came to his imagination taken from the things he saw along his way. Now he is excited to continue to take pieces of his life experiences and mold them into fictional works of art for your enjoyment.

Recently released Halfway to MMXX The Year 2020: It Begins, is available in the Amazon bookstore. This latest release promises to be the thriller everyone will be talking about in 2020. While a work of fiction, he believes climate change is preparing the Arctic to become the next great economic battleground.

A professor and climatologist are hot on the trail of a mystery surrounding a monk’s predictions from the year 1010. Old documents, discovered at Fleury Abbey in France, point to a potential disaster beginning in 2020.

Meanwhile, world-wide seismology sensors are picking up unusual tremors in the Arctic’s Pechengsky District. The Russians are telling everyone the quakes are the result of mining operations. Two female, earth sciences phenoms are separately tracking Russia’s activity and their suspicions lead them to seek help from the truth seekers.

It isn’t long before they discover events in the Russian Arctic and the prognostications of the monk are closely linked. Five unlikely acquaintances bring their unique understanding of science, history, and religion to combat the forces of nature. Will their efforts prove too late to stop the foretold beginning of the end?

Ken Farmer didn’t write his first full novel until he was sixty-nine years of age. He often wonders what the hell took him so long. At age seventy-eight…he’s currently working on novel number thirty-four. Ken spent thirty years raising cattle and quarter horses in Texas and forty-five years as a professional actor (after a stint in the Marine Corps). Those years gave him a background for storytelling…or as he has been known to say, “I’ve always been a bit of a bull—t artist, so writing novels kind of came naturally once it occurred to me I could put my stories down on paper.”

Ken’s writing style has been likened to a combination of Louis L’Amour and Terry C. Johnston with an occasional Hitchcockian twist…now that’s a combination.

In addition to his love for writing fiction, he likes to teach acting, voice-over, and writing workshops. His favorite expression is: “Just tell the damn story.”

Writing has become Ken’s second life: he has been a Marine, played collegiate football, been a Texas wildcatter, cattle and horse rancher, professional film and TV actor and director, and now…a novelist. Who knew?

Maria Papalia-Meier is a fighter. Maria may have been KO’d, and down for the count, but she proved them wrong. Her book, titled, I am a Runner is about surviving sepsis, a coma, and amputation.
