Sarah Price is a Christian fiction novelist and adult and children’s author of over 40 books. Much of her writing focuses on the Anabaptist heritage and the Old Order Amish. Her paternal grandparents were born into an Old Order Mennonite Church in Pennsylvania in the early 1900s. With her Anabaptist upbringing, she was drawn to the amazing culture of the Amish of Lancaster County where she is heavily involved with numerous Amish communities where she is considered family by some and friend by most others. Her first book, Fields of Corn, became an Amazon best selling book in 2010 and became one of the first self-published authors in the genre. Most recently, she has established herself as a more literary author by readapting the Jane Austen books into an Amish setting.

She went to Drew University in Madison, New Jersey to study anthropology and holds three other advanced degrees. Dr. Garry Rogers grew up on a small farm in Oklahoma, went to high school in northern Arizona, attended college in Arizona and Utah, and taught in New York City. An early reader, Garry dreamed of becoming a scientist or business entrepreneur. After high school, he moved to Phoenix and entered Phoenix College.

Garry earned a PhD in physical geography with a specialty in vegetation ecology. His first job was at Columbia University in New York City. There he conducted scientific research and taught courses in climatology, soils, geomorphology, and biogeography. He has published eight books, numerous scientific articles, and almost 3,000 posts on his nature-conservation blog (garryrogers.com).

Garry is an elected member of the national Scientific Research Society (SigmaXi), and he has spoken about nature conservation on NPR and Good Morning Arizona.

In 2014, Phoenix College inducted Garry to the school’s Hall of Fame. Also in 2014, Garry’s first novel, Corr Syl the Warrior, received the Kirkus Star and won the Arizona State Librarians’ OneBookArizona award.

Garry lives in the forest beside a small river in central Arizona. There he watches and writes about butterflies, deer, turtles, and almost 150 bird species including two on the U. S. endangered species list.

Joshua Dowidat was raised in the outlying areas of Southeast Arizona. Being more prone to indulge in the outdoor lifestyle he was constantly hiking and exploring the local areas up into his adult life. After high school he pursued a career in the construction field before returning to school to eventually achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Green Sustainability Enterprises. While working in new fields of employment today Joshua finds himself occupying his leisurely time once again in the outdoors and other new ventures that he finds intriguing.

For several years he has written ideas down on paper or through the computer of various ideas that he has either dreamed about or randomly conjured in his mind about different scenarios that explain something mysterious or just the simplest eerie thought that he feels when something hits him just right. His creative imagination has been a large part of his life through other works, resolutions to simple problems and entertaining others through constant joking and storytelling. All in good fun though. Over the years he has worked on compiling these ideas into a hobby that resulted into a larger manuscript that he felt, with the influence of family and friends, that he should see what direction it would take him in.

His works and imagination come from a long list of great imaginative authors including, Dean Koontz, Terry Brooks, Clive Barker, Dan Brown, H.P. Lovecraft, Tim Burton, and Neal Stephenson just to name a few. His primary readings are from these authors and others who write in a similar style unless it is his other favorite subjects like history and freelance research on whatever “pops” into his mind at the time.

While currently residing in the country, he strives to better his career in the fields of his degree and study but also has turned a major focus of his life into formatting his thoughts into words and turning those words into something that he hopes others will enjoy just as much.

This would have to be my only book published so far, “Desert Shadows.” The ‘why’ is because I enjoy gifting it and seeing people’s reactions but also because it is my only book I am capable of gifting so far.

What is the one productivity tool you use every day? Why?

Couldn’t really say which one right now. I don’t use any that often and my social media is set up on a simple marketing plan that helps.

What word do you misspell most often?

What three things do you do to be a successful writer?

Tell it the way I want to and not how I feel others want to hear it. I think that helps make a story unique. I also try to stay in touch with followers and fellow authors to hear about new things. I also focus on my writing style a little more now that I have a book published. There is a lot involved beyond the book and the way you say everything outside of your story as a person.

I was born in Chicago and educated in the midwest. After college (U. of I.) I moved to Los Angeles to seek my fortune in the music/entertainment industry.  I had just enough success to be on dozens of records, to hear myself on the radio when I was broke and to be very wary of fame.

I needed more and started substitute teaching while trying to decide what I wanted to do next. I took education courses at CSUN while teaching as a sub at over 35 different schools over the course of the next 5 years.  It was an amazing experience which I will share.  I got a permanent position at the West Hollywood Community Day School (CDS – a school for at risk students) and, during my 2o years there, earned my Masters of Education Degree and became National Board Certified in Adolescent Mathematics (primarily Algebra).  I have taught every subject and grade level from 2nd grade through adult school.  I have taught beginning teachers through the BTSA program.

I have authored the book What Happened to David, a story telling what it is like to go to an alternative school and what it’s like dealing with bullies, school violence and young love.
