While many of us are still exploring our identities and dreams when we were 16, Mark and his friends decided to distribute lights to off-grid communities in the Philippines. This is when One Million Lights Philippines started. Since 2010, this non-profit organization "provides clean, safe, and affordable solar lights to off-grid communities" and has now "conducted 100+ lighting initiatives across the Philippines, impacting the lives of over 150,000 Filipinos". In celebration of the #InternationalStutteringAwarenessDay last October 22, Andre Amador shares his experiences as a person who stutters - from his early memories in grade school to his daily struggles in riding the jeepney. These stories motivated him to advocate for stuttering awareness especially in building support groups for the community and correcting some misconceptions about the condition.
