This podcast will discuss wound management principles, dressing characteristics, and the requirements needed for obtaining the dressing.

Patients with wounds are seen in a variety of care settings but most patients with open wounds are not seen by an experienced wound care specialist. Gauze dressings remain the most widely used wound covering but choosing the right dressing for the wound type requires knowledge and understanding of the wound needs, the categories of the wound dressings the dressing functions and reimbursement.
