On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with Sarah Bockel, who is currently playing Carole King in ‘Beautiful’ at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida through May 11. Sarah has played Carole numerous times before, both on Broadway, on tour, and in other regional productions, so she brings with her an immense amount of insight into her portrayal of this icon.

In their conversation, Sarah tells Matt what she thinks is at the heart of who Carole is as a person and a character, why there is a growing “Carole Club” of people who regularly return to the role, and whether or not she blacks out and forgets which version of the show she is currently in.
