August 15th is Gwangbokjeol, or National Liberation Day, which is a day that commemorates Korea's liberation from Japan in 1945 and celebrates the establishment of the Republic of Korea in 1948. In honor of Gwangbokjeol, we look into the foreign individuals who contributed to Korea's independence.
