It was once tradition for families to gather round on Christmas Eve and tell ghost stories, trying to one up each other but also scare the children to keep them awake (yeah, Victorian's were a little odd). As far as I can tell it was still quite popular into the Edwardian period and then died off.

Now, I guess like a lot of you, I do enjoy a good ghost story and whether it's M. R. James, E. F. Benson or H. P. Lovecraft I return time after time to feel that excitement and chill. This year, to try and keep with this tradition, we've put together a spooky two part tale for you all to enjoy.

The Night Before Christmas is my homage to the great Victorian and Edwardian ghost story writers I love. It is set in Edwardian England, Surrey to precises, Christmas Eve 1903. I am joined by Pan and Zuki as they investigate a haunted manor. But what will they find? You'll have to listen to find out.

The Eldritch Hour is a horror themed, tabletop roleplay actual play podcast with a strong focus on lovecraftian and cosmic horror. The show maintains a style of slow burn tension, mystery, and atmosphere, complimented by original music. With a regular returning cast of enthusiastic players, the characters are also rich and developed. While the main game system used is Call of Cthulhu 7e, the show will explore other horror rpgs in the future. The show's first story, titled "The Star On The Shore," is a 36 episode mystery surrounding an astronomer, an antiquarian, a soldier-turned-private-detective, and a student with a secret family history as they travel to a foggy coastal town in New England in search of a rare and esoteric missing statue. The Eldritch Hour is hosted, produced, edited, and contains music and art made by Josh Richter.

Last time our investigators found themselves in the thick of an occult ritual, desperate to prevent a repeat of the events of Belthorpe Manor.

Through team work and determination they prevented the insidious cult from sacrificing a young maiden, only to have unwittingly caused the ritual to begin by shooting one of the cultists into the flames.

With the cults High Priest dead and Clay also laying in the flames, how will our investigators stop the now ever growing vortex whirling above? And how will they stop what abomination is beginning to coming through?

After traversing the hidden tunnels and passage ways of Ironforge's Spire and a brief look around for clues in the store district, our Investigators find and open a secret door, concealed as a metal panel on a grain silo.
