On Speculations, the rules and guidelines are straightforward: 

Me and a guest are given a prompt—challenged to explain a thing we don’t know much about. We have 5 minutes to prepare what we think are sensible and correct statements—something that’s true about our prompt. No research, only hand-written notes. 5 minutes is up. 

We hit record and educatedly guess and profess for ~10 min, building on each other’s tenuous ideas and sometimes desperate statements. A true expert then critiques our speculations, sets the record straight, and curates cool learning links in the episode notes.
