SpeshFX

SpeshFX was launched in the summer of 2019, based largely off of interviews conducted in 2018. In the weeks following its launch, SpeshFX was included on Apple Podcasts' New and Noteworthy curated lists for Arts, Performing Arts, and Music. Not bad for a little indy podcast if I do say so myself.

New and Noteworthy was always a goal for SpeshFX, and one of the ways I tried to make that happen was by hosting a launch party at the Bowery Electric in partnership with the American Beatbox Championship. The launch party had a beatbox battle and a live podcast, both of which were amazing fun.

This final episode is the live podcast, and some snippets from the battle. I also explain what's been going on the past two years, and say some belated thank you's to the people who helped make SpeshFX possible.

ESH!!

Watch all the showcases and battles from the SpeshFX Launch Battle!!

I came across a bunch of hysterical stories that I was dying to share with you, but didn't fit in the narrative, so I made an episode just for those stories. Definitely don't listen to Episode 6 in a place where you don't want to laugh out loud ;)

Most beatboxers know the path they need to take in order to grow in the community. And that is because of the organizations and events that define the beatboxing life cycle. But how did that come to be?

Hear the stories of the Grand Beatbox Battle, the biggest annual event in the beatboxing world, DKoy, the 17 year old mastermind behind Beatbox Talk, the Lormont Battle in France, and VBeatbox in Vietnam.
