SPFL Sighs and Aberdeen Lows: The Scottish Football Podcast

Another busy weekend ahead starting with the big game at McDiarmid Park on Friday night in the Championship which the pod will be attending! Here are the weekly predictions for you after an excellent week last weekend on that front.

Episode 1 of this special mini-series where we select the best Dons XI of the century! Today we get the first listener choices coming in…..some you will agree with, some you might not! Plenty time to still get involved ahead of the next episode before I tell you all where you have got it wrong with my team reveal!

After the high of the 6-2 win at the weekend, I look at the last 6-2 victory over Hearts in season 1992-93. I consider the team sheet that day and the lessons that can teach us for the current day.

The title race is alive and Hearts show their character yet again. Goals galore across the card and here I provide my thoughts on how the weekend panned out. And an introduction to an upcoming mini-series on the Aberdeen XI from this century……looking for listener involvement!

An 8 goal thriller at Pittodrie…..incredible entertainment! With live footage from within the ground, here are my thoughts on what was a great result and an absolute goal fest!

The Dons host basement side Livingston at Pittodrie this weekend. Can the Dons find their scoring boots and put an end to their run of poor form? Here are my thoughts ahead of the game.

The usual weekly preview of the Premiership card in Scotland, including a top of the table clash on Sunday between Hearts and Celtic, where the main winners could be Rangers! Lots of exciting action to look forward to as always and here are my thoughts!

As I record this the Dons appear to be edging towards the loan signing of Toyosi Olusanya…..formerly of St Mirren and Walton Casuals. What does this say about the Dons scouting system at Cormack Park? I also get the perspective of loyal St Mirren fan Sam on the pacy front man.

The Dons bolster their defensive options with the signing of young Scottish centre back Liam Morrison on loan from QPR. I discuss this signing and comment on the points raised by regular contributor Gavin in a voice note to the pod.

The Dons are through to the next round and there is no dancing in the streets of Raith. I reflect on a positive pre-match ramble from regular contributor David, who raised a number of Dons related items, and also on the rest of the cup action from the weekend.
