SPFL Sighs and Aberdeen Lows: The Scottish Football Podcast

Lyall Cameron signs for the Dons on loan. Short term gain….but is it worth it? Here are my thoughts and those of diehard Dons fan Dave on what has proved to be a fairly controversial loan signing.

The road to Hampden starts here! The defending holders, the mighty Dons, face Raith Rovers at Pittodrie. Here are my thoughts ahead of a huge game.

“Judge us after two rounds of fixtures” said Derek McInnes. Having hit that milestone, I am joined on the pod by lifelong Jambo James to discuss Hearts season so far and whether they can do something remarkable and lift the title.

Cup fever in Scotland with 4th round action across the country as the Dons aim to retain the trophy. Here is my brief preview of the action and where the potential upsets may occur. And a quick update on the Dons news from the last 48 hours.

Another clean sheet for the ten men Jambos…..and another correct prediction by me! Celtic grind out a win and the title race is well and truly alive. The Dons managerial hunt progresses and I hear the views of Danish Dandy Don David on all things Aberdeen. And announce that the pod will be going on tour!!!

What a title race we have this season! The Jambos lead the way and face a struggling St Mirren team in Gorgie. The saviour Martin has returned to Celtic and takes his team to Falkirk looking to keep the pressure on. And I have a rant of sorts about the loan system and how the Dons might want to use it to their advantage. Enjoy!

The final part of our conversation with Scott Morrison focuses on one of the toughest moments in a footballer’s career — deciding to leave the club that brought you through.

Scott opens up about the factors behind his departure from Aberdeen FC, the emotions involved, and how difficult it is to step away from a club so closely tied to your identity. We discuss timing, opportunity, and reflection, looking back on his spell at Pittodrie with honesty and perspective.

A thoughtful conclusion to Scott’s Aberdeen story.

Save of the decade…..and a huge win for Hearts psychologically at the top of the table. Rangers keep the pressure on with another win against meek and rudderless Aberdeen. And King Martin returns and all is well again at Celtic Park. Plenty of excitement again this weekend. Here is my take on it all. Enjoy!

Preview of the big game at Pittodrie as Rangers come up the road looking to do the double over us. How will the Dons line up? I give my views on the game, the managerial hunt and some Dons transfer gossip from this week. Enjoy!

Another appetising set of fixtures in the SPFL Premiership this weekend for me to provide my world-class predictions on, ending with the Dons hosting Rangers on Sunday. I am joined on the pod by my brother Gavin, a die-hard Dandy, to look at the Dons managerial search and some slightly more balanced views on Lutz Pfannensteil!
