What do adorable kittens and a major league baseball star have in common? Erica and Emily Sprong, Director of Seattle Area Feline Rescue, are here to spill the (kibble) beans about a surprise visit from MLB pitcher Andrés Muñoz, who dropped by the rescue to show some serious love for the furry residents. Turns out, he’s not just a pro on the field — he’s got a heart of gold for animals, too!

They chat about why kittens are better in pairs (double the fluff, double the fun!), the superhero-level work of volunteers (15,000+ hours a year!), and some truly “aww”-inspiring adoption stories — like two special-needs cats named Stella who found their forever families.

From playful paws to powerful connections, Emily reminds us how cats bring joy, healing, and a whole lot of heart to our lives. Her mission? To make sure every whiskered wonder gets the love they deserve — and to grow kindness in our communities, one purr at a time.

The Fred Hutch Obliteride is an iconic summer event in Seattle and serves a powerful mission. This year, the event will take place Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9, 2025. Participants choose between biking one of a variety of scenic routes (25, 50, or 100 miles), walking or running a 5k, or volunteering to help the event run smoothly. All fundraising benefits the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, an independent, nonprofit organization that operates eight clinical care sites and serves as UW Medicine’s cancer program.

This year, Window Nation will join the cause and help sponsor the Obliteride. As a sponsor of the event, Window Nation hopes to directly impact the Seattle community, support local patients, and fuel ongoing cancer discoveries to help cure cancer faster. The cause is personal to many Window Nation employees and their families.

Window Nation looks forward to supporting the event, connecting with its local Seattle employees and customers, and rally behind those experiencing cancer and their loved ones. In 2024, Obliteride broke their record for fundraising; Window Nation is thrilled to participate and help continue the momentum this summer.

Holly shares a funny and touching story about her son who accidentally ordered $4,200 worth of lollipops on Amazon. Cue full-blown panic… until her hometown of Somerset, Kentucky, came to the rescue by actually buying the lollipops. Holly was overwhelmed by the sweet (literally) show of support. She also shares the joys of adopting her son, calling him the blessing—and lollipop bandit—of her life.
