In the same way, followers of Jesus are invited to live from the same pattern: knowing who we are, walking in the Spirit’s power, and joining God’s mission in the world.

Looking at Luke 4 and Jesus’ announcement of his ministry, we see that God’s people are not spectators in God’s work. We are participants. Jesus reveals a God who sends—Father sending the Son, and the Father and Son sending the Spirit. Created in his image, we too are a people sent into the world.
