Spirit of Truth/The Bible on Trial episodes

  • The Bible on Trial!
Spirit of Truth Ministry presents The Bible on Trial, a program that tests the words of Jesus that He brought from Heaven from His Father, as recorded by His own eyewitness disciples John, Mathew (and Peter, as written down my Mark), against the words and teachings of others in the New Testament that never knew Jesus personally, and never heard Him speak 'in the flesh'!. What carries more weight as far as the strength of truth is concerned, eyewitness testimony, or the hearsay testimony of writers such as Luke and Paul (and others)? The Bible on Trial teaches what the differences are, and shows why what these others wrote is actually opposite of what Jesus taught about Salvation, Eternal Life, and the Kingdom of God. Taboo~ If you haven't seen the latest episode that Tucker Carlson put up on Twitter yesterday. It is titled 'Cling to your Taboos', and well worth 12 minutes of your time. He speaks of Taboos that have defined our Social construct in this country, and around the world, that protect us from virulent evil, many of which have been codified into law. Yet there is a class of taboo that if you cling to it will cause you to miss out on something more valuable and gold. There are religious taboos that have over centuries prevented the learning of the truth, and not protected the Truth from being dismissed out of hand. These 'taboos' are codified in religious dogma, and have on the surface benefitted the ethics and morals of several groups of peoples that have subscribed to them. Yet these 'taboos' have changed the actual words of the Divine in subtle yet distinct ways. All religions have 'taboos' that are prohibitions against aberrant behavior that goes against the particular dictates of that religion. These behaviors may, or may not, have any bearing on the Truth that was brought to this earth by Jesus, the Son of God. This is because those words have been made taboo by the very people that because of their particular religious fervor or 'divine' inspiriation, claim that the words they have recieved have changed or even supplanted the words of Jesus that He gave His own eyewitness disciples while He was here on earth. Many religions, and particularly Christianity, have clearly stated that the words given to the Apostle Paul by 'divine' inspiration, and indeed more modern prophets that have receives similar instruction, have made the words of Jesus moot with respect to the discovery and learing of the Truth.  The Truth of the words of Jesus have effectively been made Taboo in the Christianity, which has caused people to believe lies as if they are the Truth.

You Choose~ Every day we must choose! Choose What? What and how we choose anything is a function of things we think we control, or know that we don't. Little things such as what type of coffee, and what we put in it. What we eat for breakfast, or don't. Whether we go to school or work, or play hookie (an ancient word used to describe 'going fishing')! Sometimes we come to a realization that in certain cases, and under certain circumstances we will accept the fact that we don't have a choice, that the choice by it's very existance has been made for us. For example, you are in the Army and your superior officer has given you and order, which you MUST obey. Or your boss tells you to do something that will possibly jeopardize your next promotion if you don't do it, but that order is unethical. Life is all about choice, and you alway have a choice, even when you don't recognize that a choice even exiists. This is particularly true and poignant in choices that involve ethics, morals, and integrity. But there are other choices that you can ignore or choose not to see, that affect more that the life we now know in ways that we now cannot see. These choices have been carefully hidden under the cloud of a desire to believe something that you have been taught is true, but in fact is a bald faced lie. You have been told by credible authority that to gain salvation and eternal life all you must do is 'believe' a certain way, based on certain words, that have been put in a place that you have been taught from earliest childhood are true, and cannot be questioned; that to even question these words will cause you to lose that very eternal life that could be saved by questioning. Another way to say this is, "Faith allows a person to believe a lie AS IF it is the truth, without accountability". Faith abrogates all need to choose between truth an lies. You must choose!

Danger Close~ Knowing the difference between Truth and Lies is not easy, nor is it without it's own form of danger. Yes, danger! When you willingly go about the process of changing your entire identity in the way you look at life there are a number of pitfalls that can capture your attention to the extent that you can, early on in the process, decide that you don't want anything to do with this type of discovery, and simply shut down, turn away, and say "I've had enough of this", stopping the process of learning a Truth different than what you now know, and go back to the tried and 'true' identity of where you already are. Seaching for Truth can be very dangerous to your ego, as you come to recognize that you have been massively fooled. No one willingly comes to the realization that they have been fooled into believing lies as if they are truth, and enjoys that part of the discovery process. Yet once you have moved passed the fact that you have actually been totally blind for your entire life up until that moment, the realization that there are things about truth that are both attractive in their danger (more about that part later), and enjoyable in the application, not only to your life here on earth, but life in the Kingdom of God. As you finally discover and KNOW (without remorse) that you have the Truth about the Kingdom of God and Salvation it can be 'laugh out loud' moment. You recognize that you have been the butt of a complex, nafarious and deadly joke, perpetrated upon you by a being that has no humor what-so-ever, you can smile at yourself with relief, knowing you have dodged a soul-killing bullet.  So, imagine the joy when Jesus smiles at you and says, "Well done my good and faithful Servant", as you enter into eternity in the Kingdom of God. Won't that be fun!

Right Time~ For those of us that have lived a reasonable length of time on this earth one of the axioms of living that life is that we finally realize that when it is the right time for something to happen, it happens. A child wants what they want, and they want it right now. The term 'wait patiently' is an oxymoron for a 3 year old child. Growing up entails a good deal of waiting for certain things to happen, things that can't be rushed. Perspective of time shows us that wnen that 'good thing' that we have waited (and longed) for finally comes along, we can more often than not see that to try to advance the occurance is most likely a 'fools errand'. One of my favorite descriptive sayings that expresses this idea is, "It does no good to try to teach a pig to sing; It wastes your time, and annoys the pig"! In trying to rush either a developmental or emotional step by skipping over it often means having to go back an do it over  again later in order to gain the full value of what is was supposed to have occurred in the propher order. We are right now in this world at one of those seminal moments when those of us that know about and have waited patiently for an event to happen that will change the world for the better in an amazingly dramatic manner are still waiting. This event is so close that we can almost taste it. Yet this event that will change the world for the better has not yet happened. We believe it past time for it to have occurred, yet it is still not here. Now is the time for us to demonstrate '"the patience of the saints", the patience that passes all understanding, to know that rushing the result will be much worse than letting it happen in it's own time. Waiting patiently is exclusively an adult endeavor, and not for the faint of heart, The reward for this adult activity is almost upon us, and the last thing that you want is to miss by trying to rush it.

In Memorium~ We are entering Memorial Day weekend here in the good ol' U.S. of A., and as with millions of others I am preparing my back yard for a family gathering on Monday. The 10 X 10 shade awning is up, the bar-be-cue is cleaned out and ready. I have a new bag of B & B oak  charcoal, and my lighting chimney ready. The patio is under shade cloth, and the table and chairs are ready for occupation for our Memorial Day festivities. But during this time together with our family we will take a few minutes to remember those that died in the service of our nation, both in the military and not. "We will never forget" is not just a slogan in our family, because even though it was only my father that served during WW2, and did not die in service to our nation, we still honor the men and women that gave "the last full measure of devotion" of which President Lincoln spoke in his Gettysburg address. All war is tragedy, and the wars that have been fought over the centuries in this world have been propogated by the machining of Satan to bring about a one world order under the banner of his kingdom. These wars have killed millions of both combatant and non-combatant people for no good reason other than Satan desires to see the blood and sorrow brought about by his hubris. But this does not change the fact that honorable men and women have paid the price for this prufidy with their lives, given with the sincerity of the innocent, and God will honor those sacrifices of the pure in heart at the proper time of His choosing. So during the good times this weekend with family and friends this Memorial holiday, set aside a few minutes to remember your family, friends and strangers that in good faith gave a blank check to the nations that was cashed with their lives in time of conflict, and remember that what they did was not insignificant in the Grand Plan for the renewal of the world that is soon to take place.
