8 foundational principles about the egoic self, egoic parts, projection, ego death, trauma healing, and healing and awakening. We'll look at IFS (internal family systems), what is trauma, what is the ego, what is projection, how ego death happens, etc, in order for you to have a foundational map of the healing and awakening process. For personal healing or healership for others, these are the basic building blocks. Stay tuned for Part 2 next week.

What is our life purpose? What is our spiritual life purpose? How can we balance our effort towards well-being with our spiritual surrender? This episode maps two paths: The "horizontal path" has its survival needs, daily responsibilities, self care, and right effort toward well-being and wellness, and this is perhaps our human life purpose: survival as a movement away from pain and toward pleasure, and thriving in well-being. (Though we can get caught in pleasure-seeking and pain avoidance).
Then we have the "vertical path", and this is our spiritual life purpose. Here we move from suffering to enlightenment. The key of walking this path is knowing and accepting that both pain and pleasure together walk us up this path. Now we are not trying to run from pain towards pleasure but instead to take both pain and pleasure as our teachers and as steps towards something greater than both: full peace when we are neither avoiding nor grasping but trusting and including and being included in all.
**
To visualize this, consider 4 quadrants in an XY axis:
- The x axis is the wellness path that goes from pain on the left to pleasure on the right.
- The y axis is the enlightenment path that goes from suffering below to enlightenment above.
- Note that as we walk the enlightenment path, we experience both pain to the left of us and pleasure to the right of us, equally, as we walk up the path. (You can also visualize a wave going up the y axis sometimes veering left (pain experiences) and sometimes veering right (pleasure experiences) but always ultimately going upward.

Epsiode description continued:
How are we using prayer or our creative capacity for manifesting / manifestation in a way that imposes upon God's Will rather than surrenders to it? What is a manifestation practice, a right relationship with manifesting, that keeps us in right-relation with Divine order, and our life purpose and life path beyond our knowing?
Here we look at suffering and meaning, comfort vs growth, and spiritual growth through what some call shadow work: Where do we feel entitlement towards Life? What if the cosmology behind our questions is itself misguided, rendering our questions obsolete and revealing a distorted meaning-making that keeps us stuck in victimization, blame, and resentment?
What is our expectation of well-being, and our victimization toward Life when it's not met? How is our cosmology based on a sense of deservingness, or a transactional tit-for-tat with life, for being good people?

True power as the Power of Love, empowerment through remembering our togetherness and connecting with spirit guides and Divinity. We begin here, on our multi-episode exploration of Spiritual Activism, where we look at how to be of service during these times of global turmoil, from the spiritual perspective.
In this episode we consider how on both the individual level and on the collective level, we have been manipulated into aloneness, separation, and disempowerment. We find empowerment via the Power of Love, the great true power of Life itself. And we return to a remembrance of connection even beyond human relationship, where we remember and connect directly with the nonphysical beings and forces that guide and protect us, knowing we are never alone.
Keep an eye out for Part 2.

Inner healing as liberation from cultural conditioning. How do we heal from patriarchy, at the deepest level, and where do we arrive to on the other side of that healing? To heal the soul-body split of the patriarchy, we turn towards what we had once turned away from. As a result we land into the arms of the Great Mother, feminine wisdom, integration, embodied spirituality, and wholeness.
This episode can be listened to independently or after "Patriarchy and Spirituality: How Cultural Wounds Hijack Your Spiritual Path". That episode explains the wound, this one describes the return home.

If patriarchy's wounds are about an inner split where we turn away from half of ourselves and life (the feminine, painful emotion, embodiment, interbeing) and end up in our "castle in the sky" of disembodiment, hyper-intellectualization, and spiritual bypass, then healing from this mechanism is reversing that road back down to groundedness. We must pass through the chasm of pain that led us to dissociate out of wholeness in the first place. The only way to gain the capacity to face what we cannot face is to receive human and Divine support and gain self-healing skills. Through the crucible of re-embracing the aspects/experiences we had exiled, we can experience the beauty and power of the Divine Mother and Divine Feminine, realities of embrace, compassion, and wholeness.

Patriarchy is deeper than cultural institutions or social norms — its root is a spiritual wound. Patriarchy is the result of a soul-body split, a dissociation that includes disconnection from the body, loss of groundedness or connection with Mother Earth, and spiritual bypass. Our cultural wounds are physiological, emotional, and spiritual — severing us from our true Self, from embodied spirituality, and from divine feminine wisdom. This is the split that fuels sexism, colonialism, capitalism, and the ecological crisis.
Understanding where patriarchy comes from helps us understand that healing patriarchy’s wounds will not come only from social activism or institutional changes. Societal healing and collective awakening will come from our personal spiritual healing and embodied inner work. Healing from patriarchy requires trauma healing, a spiritual path of reclaiming wholeness in embodiment, and a spiritual awakening that includes reconnection with the earth and our bodies.
This episode explains how we got into this mess, and the next episode explains how we get out of it.

We are looking at a culture built on the body's survival response. We are looking at dissociation into intellect and then a validation of this dissociation by being condescending toward that which it has left behind and repressed, due to fear. We are looking at Man's fear of Nature: of the feminine, of the wild, of the helpless nature of the human in the hands of God. We are thus looking at healing as the movement of choosing to Turn Towards: towards embodiment, emotion, experience. This episode is basically the societal-level version of the "Trauma and Resilience" episodes.

Defining Trauma and Resilience:
Here we are looking at resilience as the result of a process of fully incarnating. Almost all of us have had what I'd call an interruption in the incarnational process. We are not fully embodied and not fully in contact with life. There is a gap between the place where we are currently hovering (soul partially out of body), and the fullness of direct experience awaiting us when we land further into the body and the moment (achieving union between Selves and dimensions). That gap (our partial self-absenting) makes us vulnerable to life's events because here we lack the embodied resilience to handle the high charge to the emotions and the nervous system that traumatic events bring. Finding resilience through deepening our incarnational process helps us heal from past trauma and become stronger to face the present and future. This is the spiritual path as a movement towards intimacy with life, rather than a distancing from it.

Spiritual resilience is the deep process of the soul fully entering the body (through spiritual practice, somatic healing, embodiment practices, etc). This is the process of embodiment which occurs through the completion of the incarnation process (some indigenous lineages relate this with soul retrieval). Deepening our incarnation (our embodiment) helps us with current difficulties and gives us the ultimate preventative protection from future trauma.

All lineages are welcome. We meet beyond culture and dogma, at the esoteric core that exists in the center of all lineages: Divinity as the One.
This podcast is your spiritual sangha through the fields. An invitation back into your center, and to what matters to you most. The philosophical friend in your ear as you go through your day. And the warm hug when you need it. Together we build the courage, trust, and resilience for true spiritual surrender, and to show up fully for all that Life is asking of us and offering us. We are here for the real deal.
