When it comes to our time and energy, it should be treated as currency because that’s not something you can get back once it is spent on people, places, and things. You have to be selective with who or what you spend your time and energy on. If the same type of energy you give out, whether that be love, kindness, joy, etc., is not reciprocated, then it’s time to cut your losses and move on to people, places, and things that will value your time and energy the same way you value others.

So long as you’re not hurting anyone else or yourself, and it brings you immense happiness and joy, follow your heart. And if a new love from a new person heads your way, accept it. But also, be sure to set healthy boundaries; don’t let anyone or anything walk over you. And above all else, surrender to the universe and let it guide you in the right direction where your heart is pointed.

We don’t play when it comes to our hopes, dreams, and aspirations, and it’s about damn time we pursue them for the sake of ourselves. We are stepping into our power this new year, and we are not looking back. Don’t be afraid to cut the ties that bind you to the past that prevents you from moving forward to your future. Because it’s bright, and it’s waiting for you to come and grab it.

Take it from someone who struggled with conforming to a belief at such a young age when they had no idea if it correlated with their life but were told it did.
