This week Shay and Athaleyah took a few minutes to talk about Haley on this short Mother's Day edition. Athaleyah also shared some stories from the Bible. This week we jumped back into the conversation around discipleship and how we need to submit to Jesus. We have to let God infiltrate every part of our lives and cause true transformation in our lives. 

Coming off of Haley and Athaleyah's conversation last week, we chose to discuss discipleship this week. Discipleship is incredibly important and a passion of ours. Our family is our first priority and Athaleyah and Hagen are our first disciples, but there is also a larger conversation about how to disciple and be discipled. I hope this encourages you to pursue Jesus alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ. 

"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Jesus calls us to have faith like little children. Our daughter, Athaleyah, is our second guest on Spiritual Side-note. In this episode Haley had a conversation with Athaleyah about Bible stories and different parts of life. I hope this lighthearted and insightful episode speaks to your childlike faith. 

We chose to take some time and process Holy Week together. This is the week leading up to Easter involving all of the moments that Jesus experienced. There is so much in this week that is powerful for us to learn from and reflect on. I hope you take time to reflect on all that Jesus has done for us. Have a great week. 

The topic of the week is celebration. We discussed how it is too easy for us to be negative and nitpick things in our lives and we need to learn how to celebrate well instead. There are so many things in our lives we can be thankful for and we can learn how to "feast" well as we learn the art of celebration. 

This week we took a slight deviation from our typical feel and decided to chat about things we both enjoy doing. While this is more lighthearted throughout, we still talked through healthy balance in regards to what we spend our time doing. Hope you enjoy! 

This week we jumped into a conversation around motives. Why do we do the things we do? What is the truth underneath the decision or action, and how do we begin to align ourselves with God's motives and intentions. If heart transformation regarding what we do does not change, then the actions and decisions won't either. 

This week on Spiritual Side-note we discussed friendships with some of our friends. Zach and Rebecca are good friends of ours and our first guests. We talked through some values in friendships and discussed the difficulties of having friends as adults. 

This week we decided to give our best advice on the fly. We each took turns asking the other about different areas of our lives that we have experience in and then we gave our advice regarding that topic. This was a fun episode to share on multiple topics both lighthearted and serious in nature. I hope you can apply some of this advice to your own life.
