What happens when the life you built looks good on paper — but no longer feels meaningful?
In this episode of the Spiritual Spotlight Series, Rachel Garrett sits down with Alice Thera Nova, an energy designer and intuitive guide whose work explores energetic patterns, inner wisdom, conscious creation, and spiritual sovereignty.
Alice shares how a prolonged dark night of the soul dismantled an identity that no longer felt authentic and led her into a deeper exploration of spirituality, energy, and intuition. One of her earliest practices was surprisingly simple: walking for an hour every day without music, podcasts, or distractions so she could finally hear the inner narrative running beneath the surface.
Rachel and Alice explore why old patterns are not always evidence that something is “wrong” with us. Sometimes those patterns were once protective. The deeper work, Alice explains, is learning to understand what they were trying to do, extract the wisdom from them, and decide whether they still belong in the life we are creating now.
They also discuss Alice’s energetic framework, the and her approach of releasing, recoding, and restoring energy while pairing inner work with real-world action.
The conversation moves into spiritual discernment, channeling, and Alice’s experiences with the guide she calls Sophia, the Divine Feminine Collective, and the Amani Council. These are shared as Alice’s personal spiritual experiences and framework for understanding her intuitive work.
One of the most important themes of the conversation is spiritual sovereignty: how to receive support from teachers, healers, mentors, or guides without giving someone else authority over your own inner knowing.
Rachel and Alice also explore:
Alice leaves listeners with a powerful reminder: wisdom is not reserved for a chosen few. Her invitation is to become more aware of where your attention goes, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and begin trusting what you already know within.
Where are you being asked to trust yourself more deeply?

What if spiritual awakening isn’t supposed to fix your life overnight?
In this episode of the Spiritual Spotlight Series, Rachel Garrett sits down with teacher, writer, and astrologer James Burgess for a grounded conversation about what decades of spiritual practice can actually teach us: how to reclaim personal authority, question what we’ve been taught, and stop handing our inner knowing over to teachers, experts, predictions, or spiritual trends.
James shares his unconventional path, including years of travel and his devotion to zikr, the Sufi practice of remembrance. Together, Rachel and James explore the difference between genuine spiritual transformation and temporary inspiration — and why discernment becomes increasingly important in a world filled with spiritual advice, fear-based predictions, and endless claims about what we should believe.
They also dive into astrology, Sabian Symbols, Chiron, and the outer planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, exploring how James works with these symbols and archetypes to understand personal and collective patterns.
In this conversation, you’ll hear about spiritual awakening without the hype, why life can act as a mirror for our own consciousness, the importance of testing teachings rather than blindly following them, and how language itself can become a tool for boundaries, identity, and greater clarity.
James also explains his unique seven-word system and why sometimes the most important part of learning a spiritual teaching is eventually becoming willing to let it go.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you are truly following your own inner knowing — or simply following someone else’s version of truth — this episode is an invitation to question, explore, and come back to yourself.
What belief are you ready to unlearn?

Healing can start to feel like a second job. If you’ve ever caught yourself constantly processing, clearing, digging for the next shadow, or measuring your growth by how hard it hurts, this quick tip is your permission slip to breathe. I’m Rachel Garrett, and I’m sharing a simple truth that can change the tone of your healing journey: joy is not a distraction from healing. You’re allowed to feel good before everything is perfectly fixed.
We talk about the difference between meaningful emotional healing and endless self-improvement pressure. Yes, deep work matters sometimes, naming the pattern, feeling the emotion, and telling the truth about what hurt. But healing should not become another place where you feel like you’re failing. Joy can be medicine too, especially for nervous system regulation, trauma recovery, and integration. Laughter, music, beauty, dancing in your kitchen, time near water, sunlight on your face, and quiet moments of comfort all count as real self-care.
If joy feels unfamiliar, you’re not broken, you may have been in survival mode for a long time. We explore the guilt that can show up around resting, playing, receiving, and doing something simply because it makes you happy, and why those moments remind you that you’re not here only to endure. I’ll leave you with three grounding questions to help you find one simple joy today and let it support your wholeness. If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs permission to soften, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

What happens when a scientist who has spent nearly two decades in biotechnology and oncology research has an experience that completely changes the way she understands consciousness?
In this episode of the Spiritual Spotlight Series, Rachel Garrett sits down with Crystal Cassidy, scientist, mystic, and founder of Soul Pod, to explore the unexpected intersection of science, spirituality, meditation, consciousness, and technology.
Crystal spent years working in biotechnology and oncology research, including clinical operations connected with bringing a blood-based cancer diagnostic to market. Then, during a severe illness in 2020, she describes having a near-death experience that profoundly changed the direction of her life and deepened her relationship with spirituality and consciousness. transcript-a-near-death-wake-up… transcript-a-near-death-wake-up…
Rachel and Crystal explore why meditation does not always feel peaceful at first, why becoming more aware can initially mean becoming more aware of discomfort, and why spiritual growth may require learning how to stay present with emotions rather than constantly trying to escape them. transcript-a-near-death-wake-up…
They also dive into Crystal’s concept of Soul Tech — the idea that technology, community, spiritual practice, nervous-system awareness, and consciousness can work together rather than against one another. Crystal shares why she created Soul Pod, a spiritual wellness platform designed to support people at different stages of awakening and give them a sense of community along the way. transcript-a-near-death-wake-up…
This conversation explores:
Crystal’s closing message is simple but powerful: you are more powerful than you know, and there is an inner technology within you waiting to be explored

Your day starts calm, then you check your phone and suddenly you feel anxious, foggy, or weirdly heavy even though nothing “bad” happened. That moment is the clue. We talk about how modern digital life floods us with opinions, predictions, hot takes, and spiritual content, and how that constant stream can turn into spiritual static, especially if you’re empathic, intuitive, or energetically open.
We walk through a simple shift that changes everything: treating discernment as spiritual hygiene. Not every message deserves access to your energy. We share practical questions you can ask before you consume content like “Does this ground me or spike my anxiety?” “Does this feel like truth or pressure?” and the one that cuts through the fog fast: “Is this mine or is this noise?” Because sometimes the feelings you have after scrolling are not your intuition at all, they’re collective anxiety, someone else’s fear, or plain overstimulation.
Then we get concrete with easy energy clearing and grounding practices you can use immediately: three slow deep breaths before reaching for your phone, stepping away from content that makes you distrust yourself, and using digital boundaries like mute, unfollow, unsubscribe, or block without guilt. We also share a short heart centered reset you can say out loud to release what isn’t yours, return your energy, and call your power back to you.
If you want more calm, better self trust, and less “internet residue” in your body, hit play. Subscribe for more quick tips, share this with a friend who feels drained online, and leave a review with the boundary you’re practicing this week.

What if you didn’t come here to fix, perfect, or endlessly heal yourself—but to fully experience being you?
In this deeply personal episode of the Spiritual Spotlight Series, Rachel welcomes spiritual medium Christy Levy and spiritual teacher and channel Gary Temple Bodley, co-hosts of An Unimaginable Life.
Christy shares how her mediumship unexpectedly emerged in her 50s and how she now connects with spirit guides, crossed-over loved ones, and the non-physical collective known as White Light. Gary reveals how meditation opened his connection with Joshua, a collective of non-physical teachers, and explains why our beliefs and perspectives shape the reality we experience.
Together, they explore channeling, spirit guides, pre-birth intentions, free will, limiting beliefs, light language, manifestation, and why life may be designed for discovery rather than certainty.
Then the conversation becomes personal as Christy connects with Rachel’s spirit guides live. Hildegard of Bingen and Gerald Durrell step forward with powerful guidance about uniting medicine and mysticism, choosing wonder over certainty, releasing the belief that usefulness determines value, and allowing the healer to become the creator.
This conversation is a beautiful reminder that healing doesn’t always have to be heavy—and that wanting an experience may be reason enough to pursue it.

If you’ve ever said yes while your whole body begged for no, this quick Spiritual Spotlight is your permission slip to come back to yourself. We’re naming a truth that can feel hard to believe when you’re a helper: your boundary is not a betrayal. A limit doesn’t mean your heart is closed. It means your energy, time, and capacity matter, too.
We talk about why boundaries feel so uncomfortable for healers, empaths, caregivers, nurses, moms, intuitive spaceholders, and lifelong people pleasers. When you’ve been taught that love equals availability, you can start to confuse being loving with being endlessly accessible. But those aren’t the same thing. You can care deeply and still say no. You can be spiritual without carrying everyone else’s emotional backpack. A boundary is simple, honest clarity: what you can offer, what you cannot carry, and where you end and someone else begins.
We also get real about what happens when you change the pattern. Not everyone will celebrate your new limits, especially people who benefited from you having none. Their discomfort doesn’t automatically mean you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes it means healing is finally happening. We close with grounded self-reflection questions to help you spot where you’re overextending, what you fear will happen if you honor your limit, and whether “selfish” is actually just “unfamiliar.”
If this landed, subscribe, share it with a fellow overgiver, and leave a review so more people can find support in setting healthy boundaries. What boundary would bring you peace this week?

Have you read the books, repeated the affirmations, worked on your mindset—and still found yourself repeating the same patterns?
In this episode of the Spiritual Spotlight Series, Rachel Garrett speaks with Dr. Louise Swartswalter, founder of the Brain Soul Success Academy and creator of the B.R.A.I.N. System™, about why conscious awareness alone may not be enough to create lasting transformation.
Dr. Louise shares her remarkable journey from a devastating health crisis and three years on oxygen to becoming a naturopath, neuro-biofeedback specialist, and transformational teacher. Together, Rachel and Dr. Louise explore how childhood experiences, emotional wounds, ancestral patterns, nervous-system responses, and energetic imprints may continue influencing our choices—even after we consciously decide to change.
You’ll hear about:
Dr. Louise also guides Rachel through a live energetic exercise focused on releasing doubt, strengthening self-worth, and embodying the belief: “I am enough.”
This conversation is an invitation to move beyond simply understanding your patterns—and begin creating change that your whole being can support.

A big inner shift can feel amazing, and then strangely unsettling. One day you have a breakthrough in your spiritual healing, and a few days later you’re staring at the same responsibilities, the same relationships, the same dishes, wondering why everything feels off. I’m Rachel Garrett, and this Spiritual Spotlight Quick Tip names what’s really happening when you think you “changed” but your life still feels unfamiliar.
We talk about integration after a breakthrough, the often-overlooked stage where your body, energy, nervous system, and everyday choices catch up to what you now understand. That’s why old conversations can suddenly feel different, old roles can feel too tight, and old yeses can start sounding like no. Feeling tired, emotional, or in limbo doesn’t automatically mean you’re going backward. It can mean you’re becoming more honest about what’s aligned and what isn’t.
I also share why the in-between space can be sacred: you’re no longer who you were, but you haven’t fully learned how to live as who you’re becoming. You’ll hear grounding questions to guide personal growth and embodiment, plus simple integration practices you can use right away, like pausing before repeating an old pattern, honoring a boundary, and letting rest be part of the healing.
If this resonated, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s in the messy middle, and leave a review so more people can find these spiritual healing quick tips.

What happens when you stop asking, “Will they choose me?” and finally begin asking, “What do I actually want?”
In this powerful conversation, Rachel Garrett is joined by Maraya, also known as Venus.In.Pisces, a feminine empowerment coach, depth facilitator, astrologer, and creator whose work explores decentering men, feminine energy, relationships, erotic embodiment, self-actualization, and spirituality.
Maraya shares how she realized that despite years of personal growth, feminism, psychology, and self-awareness, much of her time, energy, and identity was still organized around male attention, relationships, and being chosen. That realization became the beginning of a much deeper journey back to herself.
Together, Rachel and Maraya explore what “decentering men” really means—and why it isn’t about rejecting men at all. It’s about deconditioning the beliefs that teach women to prioritize being desirable, agreeable, nurturing, and chosen over knowing and honoring themselves.
They also dive into whether manifestation and divine feminine teachings can unintentionally keep women focused on romantic validation, how to distinguish intuition from attachment and fantasy, feminine energy beyond the male gaze, sacred rage, boundaries, self-abandonment, and the true value of your time, attention, and energy.
This conversation is an invitation to stop performing for love and start building a life that actually belongs to you.
Because your time is valuable. Your energy is valuable. And coming home to yourself may be one of the most powerful spiritual practices there is.
