Why Breaking Free From Your Family's Patterns Is the Path to Your Calling | Mystic Monday

Learn why your purpose cannot fully emerge until you individuate from your family's patterns, how to tell the difference between honoring your family and losing yourself in them, and why the wound you are most afraid to feel is usually pointing straight at your calling.

I recorded this one outside instead of my office, crows calling overhead the whole time, and it felt like exactly the right setting for this message. This week I want to talk about why your purpose keeps knocking, the idea, the calling, the level of mastery you know is yours, and you still cannot fully step into it. The block is rarely the calling itself. It is how entangled you still are with the family patterns you were raised in. Before you can live your purpose, you have to become a separate self from the bloodline that shaped you, even when that bloodline loves you well.

~ Like your purpose keeps knocking, an idea, a calling, a level of mastery, and you still cannot fully step into it

~ Like you have an amazing, supportive family and still cannot fully be yourself around them

~ Guilty for wanting a life, a path, or a calling that looks nothing like the one you were raised in

~ Confused about why you keep choosing partners who repeat the same parental wound

~ Ready to stop waiting for permission and finally answer what keeps calling you

~ How to spot when you are projecting an unmet parental need onto your romantic partner, and my own story of doing exactly that

~ What the Gnostic gospels and the concept of gnosis, knowing through direct experience rather than being told what to believe, have to do with trusting your own calling

REFLECTION AND PRACTICE FOR THE WEEK

This week, name what keeps knocking. The idea, the calling, the dream you keep almost answering. Write it down plainly. Then, journal on what stands between you and it.

Not "my parents did their best," but the exact places they fell short. Your unconscious mind needs specificity to feel grounded, it does not respond to vague answers.

Ask what you are willing to carry forward from your bloodline, it is not only curses, it is gifts too, and what you are ready to leave behind. Wherever you notice yourself protecting a parent instead of telling the truth, or projecting an old unmet need onto your partner, stop analyzing it and let yourself actually feel it. What you avoid feeling holds power over your purpose.

Choose one thing your soul has been asking you to do, the post, the date, the interview, the leap, and let yourself feel the fear of it instead of avoiding it. Do it anyway.

Whatever you have been avoiding feeling, failure, loss, responsibility, let it move through you this week instead of pushing it away. What you avoid holds power over you.

And when things get heavy, let yourself laugh like the Buddha: not from ignorance of the darkness, but from having made peace with it.

Try this prayer: God, I pray that you fill the hole in my soul. I pray that you come into my heart and fill me up. I want my validation and my love to come from you, not the world. I am coded to be filled by you, and I open myself to receive it.

If you're in a season of peak pain, let it be the gift of desperation. That letting go, that surrender, is often exactly where the real healing begins.

Mystic Monday | Your Mind Is Lying to You: A Simple Meditation to End Inner Chaos 

This week I want to teach you a practice that genuinely saved my life when I learned it. After over a decade studying yoga, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Eastern philosophy, this is one of the cornerstone teachings I keep coming back to.

~ Gripped by craving that grows no matter how much you feed it

~ Witnessing consciousness, the practice shared across yoga, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Tantra

~ Why your soul withholds certain knowledge from you so you can live an authentic human experience

~ The Akashic records and the soul as the keeper of your whole lifetime of stories, wounds, and visions

~ How identifying with your emotional state, rather than witnessing it, is what causes suffering

~ A simple, sit up straight, eyes closed meditation practice you can use immediately to step out of the fire

~ How this practice expands your auric field and creates heart and mind coherence

REFLECTION AND PRACTICE FOR THE WEEK

Become aware of the carousel. Notice when you are in a repeating state of lack, judgment, or chaos, and simply name it, here is where I am.

Accept it fully before trying to change it. You cannot shift what you have not first accepted.

Practice witnessing consciousness. Sit up straight, close your eyes, steady your breath, and say out loud, "Everything is what it is. I am what I am. I am going to witness myself and be present with what is without trying to change a thing." Watch your mind the way you would watch a fire burn or a film play, without needing to interfere.

Breathe into the back of your heart. Imagine you have wings and bring your awareness there, to the sanctuary where love and wisdom reside within you. Let that be your GPS.

Ask yourself what you have been waiting for permission to do. Stop waiting for the next oracle card or sign. Start moving your feet, the way the waters part only after you are chest deep.

Make an offering to the Earth this week. Take an item, a flower or incense, and blow your intention, your gratitude, your prayer into it. Give it to the ground and commit to your incarnation, to this life, in this body, right now.

Write your own invocation this week. Acknowledge your guides and angels, state your intention clearly, and ask specifically for how you want to receive support. Date it and sign it.

When a repetitive or negative thought shows up, pause and ask it directly: "Do you serve love, yes or no?" If the answer is no, say out loud, "I'm taking you to the light now, the place of love and wholeness, and I release you now."

Practice opening your vision to receive guidance, and just as importantly, practice closing it when you are done.
