Minnesota US Senator Amy Klobuchar talked with potential caucus-goers today at Sioux City’s Orpheum Theater. Klobuchar said her campaign was surging and she had raised more than one million dollars the day after the Dec. 19 th presidential debate. She answered a question from the crowd about “recovering” from President Trump’s trade war.

The Oath of Office took place this morning for Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott. Scott won his third consecutive term against Maria Rundquist. Scott also served as mayor in Sioux City in the 1990s. New Council Member Julie Schoenherr was also sworn in this morning. She beat incumbent Rhonda Capron in November’s election. Capron served on the city council for eight years. Dozens of Sioux City girls took part in a Winter Showcase that also gave back to the community. Members of Girls. Inc. took to the stage to sing they also handed out check to a few local charity groups, including the Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House and Support Siouxland Soldiers.
