Holy shit, this one is kind of brutal. I am so sorry for Katharina in this episode, because it just feels like she winds up being her mother's victim in the end like she'd been trying to avoid all her life, and it's so depressing. She really got the shit end of the stick in every way.

Meanwhile, there's the loss of Peter as well, and Elisabeth finding herself totally alone in this terrifying, dead world. No wonder she turns into that militant lunatic we see later.

In this Bly Manor installment, we get a really weird bit of backstory on what happened to Miles to cause him to be sent home, and it's unclear exactly what felt so urgent to him about his sister's message (apart from the fact that it was waiting for him on Day 1) but we know he took that shit to heart.
We have another thing happening as well, with him feeling increasingly threatening by the end of the episode, in a way that feels like either he's disturbed or there's something possessing him.

I'm honestly really surprised at how satisfying the ending of this series is considering that this wasn't supposed to be the end of the show, and considering how many balls they still had in the air right up until the last second.
It's certainly bittersweet because the gang is split up, but there's also a rightness to the fact that there are still quests happening ad infinitum. That just seems like who these people are, you know?

A lot happens very quickly, but that's not an inherently bad thing, and we get a romantic happy ending despite the tragedy of preceding chapters. And also a glimmer of hope for the overall planet these people live on.

This is a fun episode to me, although I will just say here that Owen wasn't really a fan...but what does he know, anyway? This could have gone in a few different directions, and it still might, but the crux of the matter is that Rebecca's friends are all moving on to new phases of their lives and she's not. She can handle this (or not) in a multitude of ways, and what she chooses is trying to pretend that she's young a hip and it's sooooo embarrassing.
While that's going on, we've got Paula dealing with the fact that the son she's finally feeling closer to is suddenly not only moving out, but leaving the country altogether. I really loved this development and I am eager to see what her other son gets up to.
