Yoooooo so shit has really gone left with Eve and Niko, and I have some mixed feelings about it. Overall, I feel ready for Niko to no longer be a major factor in Eve's story, and I feel like this is the best possible outcome for him because he's at least still alive. However, I'm not sure about having some random out there knowing as much as he does about Villanelle and I'm not convinced that he won't be a problem later.
Meanwhile, Villanelle infiltrates an AA meeting and winds up unceremoniously murdering someone in broad daylight in the middle of a crowded street. I'm not convinced this murder will get her the results she wants, but who knows.

This episode is super compelling to me because it focuses on just the sort of boring shit that will probably be the exact thing that ends the world because none of us wanna pay attention to such an unsexy risk.
We get to see what happens when a major player doesn't cooperate, and what happens is that one of the team winds up taking their place when that person is unceremoniously killed by the director. It's a really frustrating thing to watch, to really understand how interchangeable all the people are in the grand equation, as long as events are carried out the way they were planned.
So what happens now, after the mission is basically carried out by some other unknown party? Who did it, and how? And why?

This episode is the one in which Eve begins to stray a little bit more to the Dark Side. There are some discussions about what constitutes a psychopath, and she seems to display some behaviors that MAY indicate that she has some red flags waving.

The episode ends with the confrontation between Villanelle and Niko, and I nearly fell out of my chair. This bitch is just trying to meddle, and honestly I'm here for it.

I can't believe there's only one more episode of this book and then it's over and nothing more until next year! AGH
These chapters are absolutely action-packed and so intensely interesting to read. I love how much time this author devotes to explaining the intricacies of how the weapons used in this battle were formulated and built and what it looks like to actually use them, and I'm SO into the direction things take with the betrayers and that unexpected hiccup. OOPS!

This is definitely one of the more gruesome episodes so far as the site of four murders is uncovered by construction workers. These are all members of the same team, and there was one person who was also on the team who is still missing...this turns out to be Jacob, and the poor guy isn't long for this world.
I loved seeing McClaren get in touch with the. mastermind, but I was so excited to see this asshole be taken out and I'm super disappointed that was prevented. Grr.

The main thing that concerns me, of course, is how close Veronica came to having her head shaved. I'm not sure if this was the actual rapist or some kind of copycat who is trying to send a message, but either way I don't care for it.
There's just been some highly suspect stuff this season, and it's hard for me to get past whatever the show is trying to say in terms of relationships and trust. I don't know what we're meant to think of Logan's story, but him "saving" Veronica is just not enough for me to forget that he's a privileged coward. Sigh.

I'm so happy with the way things go in this section of chapters because we finally have Lilia making a smart decision and going off with Anyi. I really can't imagine what's going to happen when she is introduced to Sonea, but I'm hoping that Sonea will attempt to use her to trap Skellin.
Meanwhile, Lorkin is just going to have to wait for Kali a to make another move against him because she's barely being punished and it seems like there's a plan to simply let things ride out until everyone forgets how she learned it and they can all use healing magic like they learned it themselves. Hmm.
