I'm so SO excited to get into the next book in the Cradle series, and I'm stoked to find out exactly what the deal is with the path of Blackflame. Turns out that the family basically self-destructed after growing into a huge power, and the Naru clan are actually the ones in power now. There ARE evidently some Blackflames remaining, but we're not allowed to know who that is!
I really love the moment when Jai Long gets total and unconditional support from the Sandvipers, because it's something that he's never experienced and he was absolutely expecting to be held responsible for Kral's death. I love it and I found it so moving and I'm so annoyed at the way I'm on his side despite the fact that he's coming after Lindon.

So this is a pretty neat episode that explores a whole other world that we've never seen before, AKA the Etheric Realm (sp?) which seems like a pretty great, chill place to be. Katie and the Dean go there together to find answers, and he winds up having to stay there, even though Katie was pretty eager to remain behind herself. Understandably! But apparently feeling of personal responsibility aren't welcome, and she's feeling too much of an obligation to help other people to be allowed to stay.
Then there's the whole thing with Penny. It's such an odd storyline because we're being fed the barest details in bits and pieces, and I still feel like I have no concept of what's going on there even after the big reveal.

These final chapters really get into some deep shit because Lindon winds up killing Kral which is just so unexpected. Granted, Kral was taken off his guard, but that was only because he deeply underestimated Lindon and thought he was much easier to kill than he turned out to be.
What saves Lindon's ass is that it turns out Eithan is a goddamn Aurelius, and I still don't entirely know what that means but evidently they're kind of a big deal. Not only is he from that family he's a fucking Underlord, and he's nothing to fuck with. Eithan takes custody of Lindon and Yerin, and tells Jai Long that Lindon will fight him in a duel in a year.
I can hardly wait.

Meanwhile there's a whole thing with Veronica and Logan, and it seems like we're finally heading towards a breakup. I think that I'm ready for this to happen, and I just hope that there isn't an on-again off-again thing that gets milked for all it's worth.

So this is when Lindon gets to level up. It's about time, baby! Although to be honest it's been no time at all and he's really ahead of schedule and I probably can't expect for him to continue at this pace.
However, despite it happening quickly, it sure as fuck wasn't easy. He very nearly dies, and is willing to put himself through even further hell during the process of gaining his iron body...which, by the way, is way more hardcore than the traditional Sandviper method. It's almost cute how they do it in comparison.

These chapters are rather stressful, as poor Lindon gets caught trying to break out the miners in the pyramid and eventually steal a bunch of scales. It takes no time at all for Jai Long to sense him, and it turns out that they can sense his spirit and have set up a kind of security system to watch for him.
Lindon gets put to work, and it doesn't go great for him because he's a Copper and can't keep up with the workload. And someone else has followed him inside, who seems deeply interested in Lindon's situation and is determined to get involved.

There are no more episodes of this book commissioned yet so I'm not sure what I'm in for, but this was a helluva first section. This book is apparently link to the Warhammer game, which I didn't know was even a thing but that's actually a pretty cool idea. It makes me very curious about what other books are in the series and if they all have the same tone.
This book starts off with a bang, quite literally as someone in the party actually explodes after performing some magic. It turns out that this crew is heading to kill an evil, evil man who is like, boderline immortal, and it seems they succeed.
It. SEEMS.
I am really interesting in what happens next, here's hoping I get another episode!

So. That was a helluva finale.
I don't know what to think. I know that there's another whole season coming, and that Eve can't really actually be dead like she seems to be, but where do we go from here? Is this going to go back to Eve VS Vilanelle like in the first season, but without any sense of affection between them? What about Constantine, is he going to get what he wanted? I really want him to come back in the next season and I am worried we might have seen the last of him.
I have no idea what to expect now that Eve has parted ways with Carolyn, as well. I can't help but wonder if she's going to take it back when she recovers.
