November 21, 2019Derry Girls, S02E06Many thanks to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode, and for introducing me to the whole series. It's been THA BEST!This finale episode made me cry and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I know that the relationship that the girls have with James has been fraught with bullying and whatnot, but also there's something more and I'm glad that the show has decided to address it. Also, there's something so important about getting to see a kid James's age reject a toxic parent. I know that it's rarely that easy, but I love to see it depicted. Thank you so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 4minPlay
November 20, 2019Red Sister- Episode 6Thank you very much to Martin for commissioning this episode! This was an interesting series of chapters because we jump ahead in time and get to see Nona a lot further on in her studies. And by "studies" I mean her ability to kick ass and take names. Unfortunately for her, when it's time for her to use a blade she decides to grab the same knife that she hid in blade storage after it was lodged in her headboard, and there's something about that knife that gets some of the sisters' attention. Oh, also there's a new student who is even shadier than Clera, and I'm not sure what to make of her, but she's MAYBE more of a badass than Nona. In a fight, Nona gets her ass whooped to the point that her new friend Ara steps in...but Nona winds up paying the price anyway. Thanks for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!...more1h 7minPlay
November 20, 2019Veronica Mars, S02E19- Nevermind The ButtocksThank you very much to Jacqui for commissioning this episode! Well this was a really weird one, but I liked it because of how much it focused on the overall bus plotline, which is the thing that I'm absolutely stymied by every time I try to piece things together. Turns out that Kendall and the Fitzpatricks might have been in bed together (heh) this whole time, and possibly were in cahoots to take out the bus full of innocent people. Whew! Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 7minPlay
November 19, 2019The Magicians, S02E13- We Have Brought You Little CakesThank you so much to Nicole Larsen for commissioning the finale of Season 2 of The Magicians! This episode was a really big surprise to me because I wasn't even aware it was the season finale, so I wasn't prepared for the dramatic turn that the whole story takes. Damn but this all caught me off-guard! It's hard to know where to begin when talking about this episode, so instead I will just talk about the end; in an attempt to save Fillory, the gang gets together and tries to stop Umber from ruining everything. This culminates in his death, as well as his brother's, and as a result their parent(s) decide(s) to turn off the magic faucet and stop everyone from accessing magic. Well, almost everyone, but the faeries still seem to be able to do their thing. Thank you so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 4minPlay
November 13, 2019The Magician's Apprentice- Episode 10Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! I'm really flummoxed by the way this fight goes down. There's not the big climax that I expected, and instead of really being in the middle of things from the perspective of someone actually fighting, we instead look on from the sidelines while Tessia stays out of the way and Hanara pees his pants. Weird choices. Then there is the seemingly impulsive decision that the Kyralian magicians make when they finally defeat the Sachakans. I guess a victory that didn't kill a single magician would lead to you getting cocky, but invading Sachaka is a really...serious move. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 5minPlay
November 13, 2019The Wall Of Storms- Episode 7Thank you again to Kyle for commissioning this episode! These chapters, we're finally getting a little more to the heart of the issues that Zomi is here to talk about. She decides to show up looking shabby to really point out that she's poor, unlike every other yahoo in the audience hall. She really makes a big show of letting everyone know that she's only here because she fed the judges' opinions back to them, and it's pretty incredible. And oh yeah, there's a riot happening. Then there's the flashback to the moment when Luan makes Zomi her first brace, and when they discover the lava flowers. It's a really sweet series of scenes, and I'm not pleased by the plumes of smoke we see coming from the area where the little town used to be. BoooooooooooooooThank you again for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 5minPlay
November 13, 2019Dark, S01E09- Everything Is NowEnormous thanks to Jill for commissioning this episode. I'm absolutely floored by the events of this episode. I had no idea that Ulrich could get arrested. I assumed that he would attempt his little child-murder, and then dance his way back into 2019, and then we'd have to deal with him realizing that Helge is still alive and the fallout from that. Instead we're getting this bonkers replay of him being thrown in prison by Egon yet again, and it's so bizarre. There is just so much going on, and I'm very interested in what the fuck Claudia's deal is because she looks bonkers and she's out here making moves that I don't understand. WHAT IS SHE UP TO. Thank you all so much for listening, and I can't wait to see you in a week with the voyeur episode!...more1h 6minPlay
November 12, 2019The Wall Of Storms- Episode 6Thank you to Kyle for accepting this make-up episode after one of the others got all garbled and messed up. I'm absolutely on tenterhooks because I still don't know what Zomi's thesis is, and I'm sitting here watching a bunch of rich goons parading around in front of the Emperor talking about how important it is that the rich get to stay rich. Thank god for fucking Jia telling these assholes to go screw. I'm not a huge fan of Gin's involvement in all this, though. Meanwhile we're watching the past Zomi getting taught some things about a new place they've landed in their balloon. I'm a big fan of the logograms and the way that they work, and I want to see more of them. Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 3minPlay
November 12, 2019Travelers, S01E05- Room 101Thank you to Karyn for commissioning this episode! Wow. So this one was pretty fucking intense, huh? Being abducted is one of my worst fears, and I'm sure a lot of women can understand that fear. But in this case, the gang is experiencing something much worse than a run-of-the-mill abduction and hostage situation. They've been snapped up by a professional, and are being kept in a facility that seems top notch. I do not like this one bit. In the end, McClaren manages to find them but it's unclear to me if that was permitted by the captor or truly a stroke of luck. I mean, their location seems to have been transmitted to him directly but that wasn't necessarily done by the kidnapper. Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!...more1h 5minPlay
November 11, 2019Dark, S01E08- As You Sow, So You Shall ReapFirst of all, huge thanks to Michael for commissioning this episode. I AM NOT READY FOR THIS SHOW. Like, as a whole, in general, I am growing more and more aware of how deeply unprepared I am for these writers and their bonkers ideas. There is a ton going on in this episode, but the main event for me at least is that fucking Ulrich is out here going back in time and then jumping to some HUGE conclusions about Helge and his involvement in the murders of not only his brother and son, but also two other bodies that show up at a construction site. Poor Helge has already been pissed on today, and then the very man who saves him from the bullies tries to bash his head in. What???Thank you all for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!...more1h 4minPlay
