JRose is a spoken word artist born and raised in Queens, NY. Her love for Hip Hop inspired her to start writing poetry over 20 years ago. In 2015 she decided to take her poetry from paper to the stage and since then she's been featured on stages all over New York, such as The Nuyorican, Inspired Word NYC, Open Mic Renegades, Bronx Poetry and many more. She's been interviewed on multiple platforms including QNS.com, Master Plan, SWB Radio, Ink Magazine to name a few. In 2018, she established a creative platform called, The Rose Garden Events and has grown to become a powerhouse beyond her local community. JRose has expanded to curating and hosting performance based events such as, monthly open mic nights, showcases, fundraisers, small business expos (VenDivA Expo) and more.
In 2020 her creative journey led JRose to media production and journalism. She launched her first talk show titled "The JRose Experience", where she brings an intimate look into the creative process of poetry, music, art and entrepreneurship from the perspective of Poets. What started out as a New York City based talk show quickly evolved into a country-wide project that is now a traveling talk show. The JRose Experience has now touched down in NYC, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Tampa. In the midst of the 2020 global pandemic, JRose evolved into a pioneer in the virtual space. She was able to adapt The Rose Garden Events to the digital demands of the world. She began to host virtual events such as, Virtual Voices Open Mic Nights, The Hotline Erotic Open Mic Nights and even Netflix Parties to connect creative communities worldwide. JRose’s mission to bring poetry to mainstream media continued when she launched a mini series called “Whatchu Say Poet?!”, where she has one on one virtual chats with poets from all over the world.
JRose now mentors many Poets & Entrepreneurs looking to find their creative path. She facilitates Spoken Word workshops that teach children & young adults how to use poetry as the voice for their communities. She has also collaborated on other workshops with organizations such as Luminous Minds Project & Awful Good Writers. JRose is on a journey to fulfil her purpose in life, which is; provide a safe space and outlet for artists and business owners to be seen and heard. Her belief that there is no such thing as a garden with just one flower is the driving force behind her consistency and dedication to serve the artistic community.
