They talk about the "slow burn" effect used to create suspense, mental health as it relates to grief,  and topics regarding destructive cults. Katie finally does her own research and brings a historical perspective to the cult conversation. The group discusses how these real-life cults relate to the cult featured in the movie. While reviewing the film, they each enjoyed a glass of 2020 Gateway Vinho Verde Rosé.

On the second episode of Spookaholics, Vijal joins Katie and Sam to discuss the critically acclaimed Australian film, The Babadook (2014). They discuss the film's major themes of grief, anti-maternalism, and Babadook's reputation as an LGBTQ+ icon while drinking The Unexpected 2017 Shiraz. 

On the pilot episode of Spookaholics, Sam and Katie drink Knotty Vines and discuss the notable, avante-garde The Blair Witch Project (1999) and its sequel, The Blair Witch (2016).  They discuss the experimental production and promotional techniques used for this film, as well as the misogynistic background of witch lore and how it still affects modern women. 

Lovely Listeners, we have some news! This is actually the final episode of Uncorked and Untamed. However, Sam and her friend Katie are going to be hosting a new podcast called Spookaholics! We will be launching it in mid-July, and we are super excited. On this episode, Dani and Sam discuss podcasting and give Katie some advice, discuss highs and lows, and reflect back on all they've learned through Uncorked and Untamed. This is the end of an era, but it is also a new beginning, so please give a listen!
