Eric Dwinnells welcomes back guest cohost Brian Toney to discuss the Texarkana Moonlight Murders aka The Phantom Killer. This is the case that the movie(s) The Town That Dreaded Sundown was based on. Yes believe it or not, the 70's port slasher staring a sack-headed killer was based on true events...loosely based on true events.

The mother becomes quite ill with an unknown sickness. The hotel doctor is called and what happens next is...well, we don't want to give too much away.

This urban legend causes us to look for its roots. If it's not a true story then why was it made up and why does it get repeated over and over for generations? Does it contain messages about how to deal with foreigners, how businesses will kill you to save a buck, or what to do about illness?

Host Eric Dwinnells is shocked and excited to be able to report that police have made an arrest in the Golden State killer aka Original Night Stalker aka East Area Rapist case! The man they have arrested is Joseph James Deangelo, a 72 year-old former cop. So far he has been charged with 8 murders and more are expected. Police say DNA links him to 12 murders and at least 50 rapes through California.

Eric has been following this case since the early 2000's and was so excited by the big news...but he had no one in his personal life who was also following the case that he could talk to about it! So he turns to YOU, the listener, to tell you what he knows, what he's heard, and what he speculates about the case. This episode is NOT an in-depth description of the case, just an overview and a review of what we know about suspect Deangelo so far. This is breaking news so take it all with a grain of salt, but there is no doubt this in an incredible unfolding story!!!

It's one of Japan's greatest unsolved mysteries: in the 1980's, a person or persons referring to themselves as The Monster with 21 Faces began to terrorize Japanese food companies. First, they kidnaped the CEO if Glico, then they performed acts of arson, and finally they sent threatening letters stating that they would add poison to Gilco's products. And Glico wasn't the only company targeted. 

To this day no one is sure who or what the Monster with 21 Faces was. The one suspect, the cunning and mysterious "fox-eyed man" remains at large. So who could it have been and why did they do it? Let's speculate on tonight's Spooky A S!

Tonight host Eric Dwinnells welcomes back Judith Kalaora to discuss The Immortal Man of malden Massachusetts, Ephraim Grey! But there is a problem...Eric tried to research Ephraim Grey online and found very little evidence that he ever lived at all, let alone lived forever. But Judith, who was used to work for a Boston ghost tour company as notes from a training she was given with very specific names and dates relating to the tale. Could it be that someone has done deep research on Mr. Grey and just never thought to publish it anywhere or is it possible that a tour company who's job it is to tell spooky stories might have added a few details for dramatic effect? You decide.

Ephraim Grey was (allegedly) a 19th century mad scientist/doctor who was trying to find the secret to eternal life. Apparently it didn't work because his "manservant" reported his death to police but said his master wanted no inquest or autopsy performed! Years later, when teenagers searched Ephraim's (alleged) tomb, Ephraim was there and looked very much alive! When they came back for a second look...he was gone!  Some say he still wanders the town by night. Others say the whole story is B.S.

We'll also discuss Judith and Eric's similar odd jobs and their VERY different views on ghost and the afterlife!
