  • Ep 08 Deals with the Devil

Tonight were talking deals with The Devil! Specifically 3

figures from pop music who have been accused of giving their souls
to Satan in exchange for talent and/or wealth and fame: Robert
Johnson, Bob Dylan, and Michael Jackson. Did Robert Johnson meet
the devil at a crossroads and surrender his soul to him in exchange
for guitar greatness?  Who is "the high commander" that won't
let Bob Dylan stop touring? Did little Michael Jackson make a deal
with the devil to become the greatest of all The Jacksons and
eventually The King of Pop? What happened when he tried to get out
of his deal with the devil?

Join Eric and returning guest cohost Brian Toney as they discuss
all this and more (like the 80's Ralph Macchio movie Crossroads!).
And, if you've been longing to hear a killer Ed Bradley
impersonation, this is the episode for you!

This episode ran very long and bandwidth is pricey so much had to be cut, but you'll eventually be able to find most of the "outtakes" on youtube or at our official website:

Just in time for St. Patric's day, Eric and guest cohost Tom Cole talk about 2 of the most famous beings in Celtic mythology, the Leprechaun and the Banshee! • Ep 05 Disney's Haunted Mansion

Welcome, foolish mortals! Join Eric and guest cohost Aaron Cohen (webmaster of the Disney-focused website magicandmisadventures.com) as they give you a pretty in-depth history of the world's greatest dark ride, Disney's Haunted Mansion (or should we say "mansions"?). From Walt Disney's original concepts for the attraction right up to changes made to the attraction just a few years back, nary a stone is left unturned. It's a much lighter topic than normal because sometimes it's nice to take a break from "seriously spooky" to "silly spooky".

Warning: We do explain how some of the effects are achieved so if you don't want to know, cover your ears for that part!

Aaron explains some of the differences between the Disneyland and the Disney World versions of The Haunted Mansion and Eric tells us about the time he went to Disney World dressed as Jason Voorhees!

  • Ep 04 Backmasking or Hidden Satanic Messages in Rock Music

Did you know that if you play "Stairway to Heaven" backwards, you can hear Robert Plant talking about making a deal with the devil and encouraging you to do the same? It's true!...well...not really, but certain groups wanted you to believe that for a time. They called this process backmasking (or back masking). And it wasn't just Led Zep; many groups were accused of hiding satanic messages in their music using this technique. Groups accused include The Beatles, Queen, Judas Priest, AC/DC and even Weird Al! And some of them were actually guilty! Kinda.

Join Eric and his guest cohost, Brian Toney, as they talk about the history of backmasking from how it started innocently as a studio trick pioneered by non other than John Lennon all the way up to the Satanic Panic of the 1980's. Was there any truth to the accusations? Is such a technique even possible to master? Can our subconscious be affected by hearing backward messages? Find out in this rocking episode of Spooky A S!

  • Ep 03 Ghosts of John Stone's Inn (aka Stones Public House)

It's a very special episode of Spooky A S when Eric Dwinnells and guest cohost Jennifer Lecesse (aka Jennie Blades) trade tales of their hometown legend, John Stone's Inn (now known as Stone's Public House) of Ashland, MA. Stone's has been around since the 1800's and it's reportedly been haunted pretty much since the day it opened. Does old Captain haunt the place? What about the little girl ghost who often appears at the window on the second floor? Jennie is an on the board of the Ashland Historical Society so she is uniquely qualified to help separate fact from fiction. Do murderous ghosts truly haunt John Stone's or was that just the rumbling of a passing train???
