The Sport for Business PwC 30 under 30 is an annual list of young people making a name for themselves in the business of sport.

PwC is all about identifying and nurturing talent so could not be a better partner in this area of what we do.

This has been our eighth year of the list and we have had the pleasure of highlighting some real stars.

Later in 2023 we will be interviewing those who made this year’s list but before that, we are going back into the archives and dropping in on some of those who went before them.

Pippa Doyle is a Global PR Manager with Whoop based out of their Dublin base and a winner last year at the European Sponsorship Awards.

She has an infectious love for what she does but everyone starts somewhere.

In 2022 Clare Shine wrote an autobiography that lifted the lid on the struggles she had faced through mental health and addiction.  

Being a professional footballer is not always the sunshine and glamour it can appear and in this episode of our Sport for Social Good series, in partnership with Allianz, we spoke to Clare about how she came through and why talk is so important.

She is an ambassador for the Pieta House Electric Ireland Darkness Into Light campaign which will see 100,000 people walk and talk into the sunrise on Saturday, May 6th.

Today we bring you the latest in the Sport for Social Good Series, in partnership with our friends at Allianz.

Darkness Into Light takes place on Saturday, May 6th.  Very early in the morning.

It’s a ten-year partnership between Pieta House and Electric Ireland and we popped into the new Electric Ireland Headquarters to have a chat about it with the company’s Executive Director, Pat Fenlon.

It will bring 100,000 souls out of their beds, or maybe out  before they’ve gone to bed, to walk at over 200 locations up and down the country.

It’s a very special morning where mental fitness and remembering those lost to suicide are to the fore.

Walking into the dawn, and talking out the feelings that thrive in the darkness, but this simple idea needs a lot of support to come to life,  Let’s find out how that happens

The SSE Airtricity League is in the final countdown for a new season that promises to be the biggest, best and most important of recent years.

A new branding, the renaming of the Women's Premier Division, two new teams coming into the mix, and plenty more besides.

We went to the launch of the League for the first in our new Business of Football Podcast, in partnership with our friends at Sky Ireland, and we spoke to Mark Scanlon the League director at the FAI, and to Leanne Sheill, Senior Sponsorship manager at SSE Airtricity about their hopes and plans for the season ahead.

In this second episode of our Women in Sport podcast we turn our attention to coaching.

Áine Kinsella is the assistant coach with the Wexford Senior Man's Football team competing in the Allianz League and the Leinster Championship.  She is a rarity, for now, as a woman in what remains a man's world but there is evidence throughout our conversation on how that can be changed.

We speak of her route to where she is, the doubts that assailed her along the way, the importance of mentorship and the role models of female coaches that were involved in her playing career.

It is worth staying to the end as we move into talking about the Allianz #StandStrong campaign and the courage it takes at times just to be a woman.

Back in November Warren Deutrom, the CEO of Cricket Ireland joined us on the podcast to talk about the advance of the sport here in Ireland and the ambition to compete at the highest level on the world stage.

He also spoke of the disappointment that the Government had not at that time been persuaded of the merits of infrastructure investment to build a national arena for Cricket.

On Friday word came through that planning could now commence on the construction of an arena at the Sport Ireland Campus.  

We had to go back to find out more about the feeling of elation this produced, what happens next and what will be the timetable from shovel min the ground to hosting part of the 2030 T20 Cricket World Cup.
