Henry Cock from Sandton is making waves as he embarks on his journey of 133 half marathons to break the Guinness World Record for the most half marathons run consecutively. But this is more than a race; this is a marathon journey to advocate for men’s mental health awareness.

Being diagnosed with anxiety himself, the 34-year-old Cock explains how easy it was for him to mask his anxiety attacks, but as the Covid-19 pandemic escalated and South Africa went into lockdown, he no longer had an escape; he had to face reality head-on.

After watching a friend and former professional sportsperson hedge all of his savings on a failed venture with dubious partners, Dale Ferreira saw the need to create a space for sportspeople to upskill their business and financial abilities during their playing careers. So in April 2020, iPro2Biz, with partners, Ferreira launched this Edtech business from their offices in Cape Town, with the aim to give sportspeople the ability to make their own sound financial decisions with the money earned in preparation for a life after sport.

Bringing in the skills from various partners and creating a team of international subject matter experts, the business went from concept to launch in under six months. The 12-month course is self-paced, covering subjects like personal finance, finance themes, becoming an investor, understanding business and venture capitalist skills.
