Cory Heitz (a former guest on Sports Business Secrets, of course), invited me to join him for a conversation about my basketball career -- from high school throughout college, and into the transition of hanging up the shoes... don't worry it didn't take long. 😅

We talked about what it was like being a D1 walk on, reasons for getting into the agency business, traveling the world, how to build genuine relationships, some common misconceptions about playing professional basketball abroad and more!

Happy Monday! EASL Champions Week has officially wrapped up - what a success!

I'm spending one more day in Okinawa before heading back to Tokyo tomorrow...

Today’s guest is Jimmy Contrini, Content Manager for Alex and Leila Hormozi! Jimmy and I first met via KTA, when he did a handful of internship projects with me in 2018!

It really is crazy how time flies. I wish I could take some credit for the success Jimmy has had in his career, but it all comes from his persistence and his relentless will to succeed! I'm very happy to see him thriving, while simultaneously continuing to seek new knowledge.

Today’s guest is Alyssa Hyatt, Senior Associate AD of Business & Administration at Quinnipiac University!

Alyssa got her undergraduate degree in sports marketing from University of Connecticut, where she also was one of the most important people on college basketball staffs… a student manager for the men's basketball team!

She then took her talents to George Washington University where she was a GA for the men's basketball team. That is where she got her MBA and later on another Masters in Higher Education Administration. She soon after jumped to Quinnipiac University where she began as the academic advisor for the mens basketball team! She's spent the past 15 years at Quinnipiac climbing the ranks and into her current role!

Today’s guest is Brianna Salvatore Dueck, Director of Strategy at 17 Sport!

Brianna played college & pro basketball at UC Davis and in Switzerland, respectively. She has a master’s degree in International Development from a top University in Paris and she's worked for various big time global corporations from the United Nations to Neilsen!

In her role at 17 Sport she works with the top properties and brands within the sports industry and helps them have a positive impact on society.

The sports business industry is undergoing a massive transformation and it's difficult to keep up with. From skyrocketing team valuations to never ending college conference re-alignments to international league expansions! And what about how quickly people are changing their sports content consumption habits relative to 5 years ago?

One of the topics that I find particularly fascinating is brand partnerships. From club sponsorships to venue naming rights to athlete equity deals, and many things in between.
