On January 8, 2018, Alabama head coach Nick Saban benched his starting quarterback Jalen Hurts following halftime of the national championship game. With his team behind 13-0, Saban turned to freshman Tua Tagovailoa to spark a Crimson Tide offense that had been lackluster the entire evening. With that one decision, Saban changed the fortunes of his program and several others throughout college football. But, what if things turned out differently?
In today's episode, Augarius will break down Saban's decision and examine how Alabama and college football as a whole would have been different if Jalen Hurts was allowed to finish the national championship game.
