He shares how his 20+ year journey from coaching stops at Ohio State, Illinois, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Kent State has helped the Redbirds move back to contending status in the MVC.

In 2025- 26 ISU had 23 wins and reached the NIT semifinals. The Redbirds have been on the rise and are working to get back to the NCAA tourney for the first time since 1998. The Redbirds have one of the best MVC fan bases and a long, proud BB history in the Valley.

Paul gives an in depth inside look at Illinois State Athletics. The Redbirds are coming off a very successful 2025-2026 Season. Men's BB won 23 games and 3 games in the NIT. Women's BB won 24 games and reached the championship in the WNIT. Football reached the FCS National Championship game. They won the MVC all sports trophy this year.
