This week we spend some time sharing our thoughts on the Ryder Cup and the incredible spectacle it offers. It is such a unique experience. Then we move into a discussion of UVA Basketball's decision to take a knee for racial justice and how we consume sports on social media. After a brief discussion of podcasts we like, we move into a discussion of our main topic for this week: Playoffs. We spend some time digging into why American sports cannot seem to exist apart from a playoff system. We also discuss what this means for the regular season. Lastly, we share what we think we think this week, including seeing contrived significance and the problem with football.

This week we start off talking about Rory McIlroy and the FEDEX Cup. Then we take some time to remember Arnold Palmer and the all too short life of Jose Fernandez. Finally we discuss our experience of the European soccer season so far. Then we move into our big topic for the week, Religion in Sports. We start off talking about Tim Tebow and move into questions of why religion has become so prominent in sports and how they interact with one another. Then we finally dig into our "I think" statements and talk about slow sports and the media.

This week we are trying something a little different. We have introduced a three segment format, including segments like "What Has Captured Our Attention This Week" and "What Do I Think that I think This Week". So we start off talking about the lasting impact of Colin K and cultural importance of College Football. Then we move into a discussion of Nate Silver and FiveThirtyEight. More broadly we spend some time discussing the role of data in sports and sports journalism. Then we move into our new "I think, I think" portion and talk about the comfort of data and whether sports a net positive or negative.
