After dominating his first 6 races, Phelps began the 100 meter fly race. Throughout the entire meet, Phelps was behind the swimmer Milorad Cavic, who started out first and led 99.9% of the race. On the back half of the race, Phelps worked his way back per usual and it came down to the wire between the two, ending in Phelps taking his 7th gold in Beijing by winning by .01 second.
